Me: In the years to follow, the power Umbra had obtained... Well... It went to his head. He had assembled an army of humans and Ghost Pokémon known as "The Phantom Legion", which he would use to crush anyone who opposed him under his armored boot heel. He had become a tyrant... and he wasn't about to let anyone stand in his way...

Kim: (thinking, horrified) Oh, good god...

(writes it all down)

Me: It gets worse... Among Umbra's Phantom Legion were seven... no... EIGHT powerful Pokémon who had been transformed by a substance known only as "   Demon Mutagen". These eight Pokémon were The Ghost Lord's Demon Generals.   

An Ariados... The Spider Queen!

A Tauros... Crimson Helm!

A Gastly... Blight!

A Ninetales... Ninetails!

Twin Rotoms possessing clockwork Noctowls... one gold, one silver... Lechku and Nechku!

   ...and the two most powerful of his Demon Generals, the ones responsible for the destruction of the Celestials... The dreaded eight-headed serpent... Yamata no Orochi......^* A Hydreigon and the right hand of the Ghost Lord... Yami...^* Who was... (get ready for this...), a Seel!

(Kim's Pokemon shiver in fear, before Kim finally speaks:)

Kim: "And let me guess: 'yamata no orochi' means '8-headed serpent.'"

-Gerald leaps toward the other Inteleon, beating it senseless with Superpower as it frantically tries to Endure the blows.-

-The sniper puts his hands up.-

Sniper: "Alright. I surrender. You can take me to [Toronto], or something, just don't forget to pick up some [Tim Horton's]."

-...-

Sniper: "I said don't forget to pick me up some [Tim Horton's.]"

???: <I heard you the first time.>

-A Skarmory with a satchel around its neck swoops down as the sniper leaps onto its back.-

Sniper: "Now, it goes against my morals, but I think it's time to finish this job."

-The sniper recalls his Inteleon. He reaches into the satchel and pulls out two bullets.-

Sniper: "Seventeen million. That's how much your executives lost when you pulled your little stunt. And that's how much they paid me for this little act of revenge, Mr. Lyore. I'll admit that you and your pal here put up a bit more of a fight than my usual targets, but I enjoy a little challenge every now and then."

-The Skarmory readies a Flash Cannon towards Pent's skull as the gunman readies a shot at Tanten.-

Sniper: "I never miss on the reload."

-And he fires a bullet.-

-Which misses.-

Sniper: "fuck"

Me: And you are right.

And though the Phantom Legion knew such great power in part to the Demon Generals, it would stand to reason that a hero would rise up to stop The Ghost Lord's army.

-Looking at the news with my mons-

Newscaster: It has been almost three weeks since the crack in the sky finally closed, along with the odd fusion, with no explanation as to why. According to Dr. Burnet, expert in multiversal research...

I just needed to get away from the group, despite our victory Izaya's still out there, his words still taunting me. If we'd just had some self-control he'd be in jail or Alliance custody or whatever and out of our hair.

-To my left on a table is an odd stone, one of those that dropped from Eternatus's body as it departed, tinged with its Aura-

Doc: <So that's a Wishing Star?>

Yeah. Mons can use it to turn larger, Dynamax, and then there are some whose forms change with their size like they've Mega Evolved, Gigantamaxing. Like how Necrozma's responsible for Z-Moves in Alola, Eternatus is what makes Dyna and Gigantamaxing possible, as long as there's a Power Spot nearby, that is.

Thought of going to Galar before but 1) busy and 2) I find that whole endorsement thing they have for their Gym Challenge to be kinda elitist. But we've got this rock now so we're kinda obligated to. Well, that and the invite for the wedding in Postwick.

Legion: <I think I'm ready to take a rest from adventuring after all that's over...

Me: The hero in question was Amaterasu Crescendo, who had taken on the form of an Arcanine with shining white fur and crimson markings... The Goddess of the Sun, and the power that shall restore light to our world!

-Beat-

-Ian quickly fixes his glasses-

Me: Sorry... got a little carried away...

(Kim's eyes widen in shock, and she writes the name CRESCENDO down into her notebook.)

Kim: "Crescendo... that's the Amaterasu who's getting married..."

Me: Exactly.

Evelyn: (writing all this down)

Me: Anyways... During the journey, Amaterasu and a wandering artist Joltik named Issun traveled throughout the Ransei Region... Along the way, Amaterasu learned new powers by completing constellations which revealed one of twelve different divine beings whose powers could be channeled through certain brush strokes. These divine Pokémon were known as the "Brush Gods".

Me: But The Ghost Lord wouldn't have it... and sent his Demon Generals to try and destroy Amaterasu before she could dethrone him and save Ransei and the world! However, with every Brush God Ammy gains the powers of, the Demon Generals go down one by one. Spider Queen, Crimson Helm, Blight, Ninetails, Lechku and Nechku, they all fall like dominoes. Orochi? Well, y'know those things that you throw at the wall and they crawl their way down to the floor?

Kim: "Ah. Okay." (writes everything down)

Me: Anyways...

The stage was set for the final battle... Amaterasu was separated from Issun on the Ark of Yamato and had to face the strongest of all the Demon Generals...    Yami...

Me: However... matters had been made worse... for    day had been swallowed up by night... The Day of Darkness had begun, and Yami proceeded to steal all the powers that Amaterasu had worked to learn.   

Me: The final battle... had begun...

Evelyn: (writes all of this down)

Me: With every ounce of her strength, Amaterasu fought Yami, and one by one, took her powers back! With each power she regained, she gained enough power to force Yami into another of his forms... From his metallic orb form, to a serpentine fireball form, to a slot machine form to a giant robot form... often exposing the core, revealing Yami to be a Seel!

Kim: (blinks) “A Seel?” (writes it down)

Evelyn: (blinks confusedly but writes it down anyways)

Me: After taking down Yami's Giant Robot form, Amaterasu had a vision of her friend, Issun, leaving her confused... and in that confusion...

Kim: “In that confusion... what?”
