"Yeah," Colton agreed. "As much as I'd love to address the Artifacts..." he trailed off, wisps of darkness around his hand as a silent reason. He made a fist and watched the darkness build before he sat down, satisfied he was able to keep his promise.

Helmsman, meanwhile, reverted to humanity to address the sword while Kazuma searched for the Chalice.

Colton's Mindscape

Confetti fell down from the ceiling, everyone in mission control celebrating with a varying series of reactions.

Jacket, Realism and Ambition seemed to have already known that what was happening would happen.

Inferiority, Talbain, Smartass and Otaku rose from their seats, parading around the room, elated.

Insecurity seemed to anticipate another roadblock.

Everyone else leaned back in their seats, content.

"Ah, shit, wait!" Daydre moves to follow Gudrunn, but a tug in the back of her mind stalls her. The sword, it whispers. Daydre shakes her head. She wasn't supposed to touch that now, right?

Her momentary pause lasts just long enough for her to lose sight of Gudrunn, however.

-It's not until all sound fades, until the madness-inducing toxins are no longer holding her, when she finally once again hears the voice from her ring. Quiet, steady, and bitterly seething.-

Kan'al'colel: ~...Was it worth it, sorceress? Are you happy?~

Gudrunn: I... I can't... I need to get-

-She scrambles to her feet to try and stumble away, but falls to her knees.-

Kan'al'colel: ~We had a deal, sorceress. One you were all too keen to abandon for your own gain. Do you know how... frustrating that is to me?~

Gudrunn: You don't understand... I had a vision... A vision to-

-Her voice, and her breath, catches in her throat.-

Kan'al'colel: ~Your vision means nothing to me. After centuries of isolation, trapped within this gods-forsaken ring, with contact with none except for incompatible vessel after incompatible vessel, I will not tolerate being robbed of my own power by a foolish girl such as yourself!~

-She crawls toward the edge of the cliff, each arm or leg movement threatening to give out on her.-

Kan'al'colel: ~You poison not only your own mind, but mine! You take my gifts, my power and my artifacts, and you sully them with others who seek to use your mind and body! And then you have the gall to lose my artifacts?~

-She retches over the cliffside, and vomits, flecked with blood.-

Kan'al'colel: ~I cannot let this go, I'm afraid. You will experience every ounce of pain I felt as I fought with the poisons for control.~

Gudrunn: Stop... Stop stop stop STOP! I don't need you! I don't need anybody!

Kan'al'colel: ~It is no longer your choice, sorceress! You surrendered yourself to me the moment you put this ring on, and now you shall feel retribution for every— ~

-And the ranting, the retching, and resistance immediately cuts off as she yanks the ring off, dropping it off the cliffside. Gudrunn spends a moment breathing heavily, watching the ring tumble down the mountain.-

Vierr: ...Let it all out, I guess?

-Gudrunn looks to see who's addressing her.-

Gudrunn: I...

-Vierr walks over and crouches down next to her, briefly glancing over the edge before returning his attention to her.-

Vierr: Might wanna give yourself a little while to cool down. From what I hear, Nihilego withdrawal sure as hell isn't pretty.

-Gudrunn nods before collapsing, trembling violently. Vierr turns to call back to the rest of the group, just out of sight.-

Vierr: Hey, guys? She's gonna need some medical attention pronto.

Rin looks the sword up and down, holding it relatively gingerly. She's not obscuric, but isn't one for taking chances.

Rin: "... Right. Good idea."

She tucks the sword under one arm and pulls out her phone, calling 911.

Rin: "Hopefully the nearest hospital has a medivac helicopter... And Gudrunn has insurance."

Isbrabbid: <Bwah? Bwah bwah.>

Isbrand: "Uh, you have a point. Aren't we forgetting about that Nihilego? I feel like letting it roam free is a bad idea."

"Should we also try to detain the Nihilego?" Helmsman asked as his trainer stood up.

"Actually, we should focus on Gudrunn first," Colton interjected. "she was being poisoned by it for over a year now, going cold turkey would be absolutely murderous on her." A shame there's no equivalent to the [Metroid Vaccine], he mentally sighed, looking at the Sword in Rin's hand.

Five hundred times zero, some part of him said before he mentally kicked himself.

Colton looked at the words in curiosity, before shaking his head, as if to say he didn't see anything while he held his fist a little tighter to distract from the burning.

Daydre runs over, muttering a bunch of barely audible stuff under her breath.

Roxy laughed a bit at Silas's comments.

"Okay so... we did stop Pokefutures that's good, but the leader got away and I think she's got a grudge against us now. Add in the fact that we also killed what seems to be a artificial glitch this should be a success... but why doesn't it feel that way?"

Roxy scratched her head, "Yeah that's a good question."

Taipan: And then there's the matter of the glitches. They seem more akin to the abominations described in the Kalosian records than anything encountered by P—

-Gwen pulls out a screwdriver from her bag and, after making sure nobody is looking, transforms to mon form and starts to unscrew the air vent. When the vent cover is off, Cady floats out of Gwen's bag, slips on a communication device and heads into the vent.-

Gwen: <Bonne chance!>

Cady: <Ok, I'm in the vents. I think I'm going the right way.>

-Meanwhile, Gwen turns human again and heads back to the table, after putting the vent cover back on.-

"Guys," he had everyone but Pent hear via auditory illusion, also projecting it around his hand, out of trace nervousness. "I don't think that that's Pent leaving. I'm not certain but we should try to do something."

Silversmith's speedwalking rapidly shifted into a run. He checked his wrist: still no watch. He'd have to buy one at some point. But he didn't have any—Focus! That's what he needed to do! How long had passed? 5 minutes? Ten minutes? He had no idea, but if he didn't get back to Reynard quickly... Suddenly, he ran right in the path of the crowd of raiders he'd helped to smuggle in. He'd gone full circle!

Silversmith: "Oh, uh, uhhh... hi."

He ran off in the opposite direction, then slowed to a walk as he realized his running would attract attention. A ha! A hallway he recognized! He would be back with Reynard at the presentation shortly.
