Fox laughed a bit, "Perhaps something they picked up with one of their branches under Delta. I mean, he's pretty smart and that's why we're having trouble with him, right?"

The Futurecario stopped, and then turned to the location of the team, it let out a soft whistle and the Futurechamp marched over, now scanning the location as well.

Jackal got off the comms, "I'm going to head up to the Lecture hall, using the secret passage Rogue started mapping, I've got a good idea where it goes. You're free to come with, but Fox, you're to take a team to the castle's armory and clear out what you can. Armor, weapons, anything that looks dangerous is to be burnt to a crisp."
Fox saluted, "Got it. Any requests?"
"If you find any documents, grab them. I'd suggest taking a obscuric with you, use their illusionary abilities for interrogation if you get the chance. Make sure you keep within 30 minutes if you get spotted."

Jackal climbed up a wall, onto some pipework, and tapped the wall until he found a spot, and gave it a punch with his metal arm, breaking open a secret passage. It couldn't be seen under the mask but he was grinning.
Fox lead her team down the halls to another section, where faded banners of previous occupants could be seen. Before the team a door could be seen, it was listed as "Waffenkammer". "Seems pretty obvious, anyone wanna break open the door?"
Jackal and Hayon made it over the hall and looked through a old grate. Jackal whispered into the comms, "I'm here, felt I should get a first person perspective at this."
The Pokefutures senior and scientific staff shuffled in and took their seats, except one was empty, presumably Dr. Selvig. A few of the staff seemed worried, and looked to Tonio who adjusted her labcoat, pushed up her glasses and gave a lame grin.
"Hello all, welcome to today's lecture, we're covering ancient civilizations today, from Helmuth, to Hyul, to further!"
The projector displayed a image of a island covered in a thick fog, and then several, "We have been looking for years but Hyul has been... missing, these are a few chief locations we've been wishing to explore but all our equipment goes dead at it! But we do know a few things."
As Tonio talked, the projector scrolled through images of ancient artifacts, artwork, and even what looked to be broken machinery, "What we know is they were a advanced culture, capable of great scientific feats, magnetic lift, mechanical servants, even lasers from what I can tell of the focusing arrays in many of their broken machines. The artwork so far has lead us to believe that they had pointed elf like ears, why is currently beyond us."
Dr. Hale spoke up, "What does this have to do with anything?"
Tonio grinned, "Well Hale, it's rather simple, it ties into Helmuth. From what I have been able to get from my studies of the old tech is that they ran off a liquid power source that I've had to classify as "goop" due to it's viscous nature. Awhile ago it... shriveled up and turned to dust, presumably from millennia of inactivity. The stuff was quite potent and active, as far as I can tell Helmuth used it for his immortality formula."
The next slide turned to the Alakazam helmet, "This civilization had even greater scientific aptitude as far as I can tell."
Maxwell snorted, "How can you be sure?"
"North. You're our gearhead."
North grunted and held up the helmet, "I... inspected it at Tonio's request and as far as I can tell, the thing while hollow, is actually densely packed with circuitry, and still powered. Presumably the civilization in question had made powered armor for its troops in the image of a alakazam, as I can estimate it was to perhaps enhance psychic abilities."
Tonio nodded, "Ancient sciences is ironically not a exact science, add in the time of belief in alchemy as a science, we can presume that Helmuth got his best... "engineers" to work with this and give him a conquering force."
North sighed, "Which leads to the rumors of a unkillable army, and the war beasts."
Tonio nodded, "We have no evidence for either so far, hence our digs now."

Marigold: Do we have any reason to believe that what remains of this... "goop" on Hyul would not have dissolved due to inactivity in a similar manner to our own samples? If we have artefacts that remain powered in our possession, perhaps we could find a way to recharge them with alternate energy supplies.
