Jacob: "Huh, Athena? Interesting view of parenting, I would have suspected, given how Phione and Manaphy are documented to return to where they hatch that you'd feel stronger affinity for the one responsible for your existence. But oh well."
Verax: "I guess it is kind of sad. Hey, I still have my parents."
Jacob: ".... Our parents are dead?"
Verax: "Your parents are. I mean, I guess my biological parents are, but my family who raised me is still just fine back in Nimbasa. Kinda... lost contact with them after I joined Cipher. My sister and I still talk though."
Jacob: "Oh. So... you have a... family, then." -His face twitches almost imperceptibly before returning to his previous disposition-
"That's cool. Maybe you should introduce us sometime. And you might want to get back in touch with your parents."
Verax: "Maybe."

Jacob: "Oh yeah, I did hear about that..." -Thinks-
"All three of us have fought him, do you think together we could actually incapacitate the g-"
Verax: "No dice. Not gonna happen."
Jacob: "Oh come on at least let me fini-"
Verax: "That man is not just a professional assassin and killed, he has more Obscuric talent than any human has any right to have, and you already know how he fights one on one. He even holds his own against trainers and their whole teams. Maybe if he underestimated us and didn't use his own team, but I can't see us three being able to beat him without hurting each other in the chaos. There is a reason that despite being trained specifically to combat people on the Aura Spectrum I was told that under no circumstance should I attempt to bring him down except at range."
Jacob: "Okay, that's one opinion, yours, Tagg?"
Sylva: -A little confused- <Leng? PEFE?>

Leng's deadly, no doubt about that, but he's no Annoski. We do know, if nothing else, that's he's defeatable. There is that Shout slinging Electivire to deal with though...

Verax: "Right, his star Pokémon, and then there's the fact he'll use at least five more if push comes to shove. And... well, I found some really disconcerting information."
Jacob: "Hm?"
Verax: "Reached back to some old friends I had in Resources, called in a few favors to find some more info on this guy. And they led me to a few incidences in north-east [China] during a big period of civil unrest."
-Tapping his chin- "Apparently, one man just showed up and started exterminating the local dragon population. Down to the hatchlings. There wasn't a lot of news on it at the time because they were all handling keeping the Region together but..."
-Goes from his game to the internet on his gamepad and pulls up an article picture-
-In it a young man with black hair and black armor is seen standing amongst fallen Salamance-
-His torso, head, and arms are have an overlaying film of purple energy, shaped like armor and in the visage of something demonic-
"If what I found is right, this is him when he stops toying around, and since I've never seen him use this... or really any other Obscuric, I don't know what we'd need to be prepared for if we got him into a corner."
Jacob: "Okay, well we can deal with that. Also, why'd you say "Shout" like that? Is it more than just a big bellowing Electivire? I mean, I should know, but I was passed out by the time it showed up when he attacked me."

Verax: "If by that you mean hold back, no. If by that you mean slay dragons? Because according to the background check we did, he was desperate for money. He had lost two families, one to war the other... I'm not sure how. He was moved in to his aunt's house after his biological parent's had died. Then his aunt and uncle died and his adoptive sister vanished off the face of the Earth. He apparently turned to poaching to turn a quick profit and survive, and apparently dragons were in high demand on the black market."
Jacob: -Nods at Draca- "Oh, so that would be what Argentum was telling me... the storm it could summon. It wasn't like Rain Dance... it was more... malevolent. More powerful."

The [Chinese] government kinda takes a...low view of poaching. And by low I mean it's punishable by death, especially the poaching of Dragon types like Bào Róng Yuán. I can only hope he didn't manage to slaughter them all.
Draca: <What I want to know is how one human Obscuric, no matter how powerful, managed to slay so many Sahkrenne.>

Verax: "A fair number survived, apparently, and have recently been making a comeback. The area was declared a protected zone and it's taken very seriously."
"As for how the hell he managed to do it, apparently it's more than just poison he can materialize with his Obscura. Apparently, along with ghost, he's been able to impart cold and draconic like qualities on occasion. Which makes sense now, when he cut into me back at Christmas the sword felt like it was freezing. From what's been observed though, doing so uses up immense portions of ones life force quickly. He may have been trying to kill himself and failed to at the time."

Then one strategy we might use would be to outlast him long enough for him to start suffering Aura Depletion, and then move to subdue him. Of course, there's still that Electivire in the way...

-He flails more and breathes a tiny stream of flame at Zephyr. She blinks, and gently pats out her now-ignited shirt with her free hand.-

Igneous: <I KNOW THAT! I know! I'm the one stuck as a freaking Larvitar again!>

-Ren and co are sitting at an outdoor cafe eating breakfast as a lady with shoulder length reddish-brown hair and a boy in his mid-teens with spiky brown hair, the tips of which look like they've been dyed blue, approach them. The lady looks at a photo of Ren and Kitsune in a contest.-Lucinda: Mr. Renard Clavis?
-Ren turns as his name is called.-
Ren: Yes, can I help you?
-Lucinda projects her thoughts into Ren and his mon's minds which causes more than a little tension-
Lucinda: ~Please do not make a scene. I am Lucinda and this is my son, Lumen. We are Latii.~
-out loud- We thought you were told to expect us.
Ren: Ah! Miss Lucinda and her son, of course. I'm sorry for the slightly chilly reception. Let's find a more private place so we can talk.
-After Ren recalls most of his team and places money on the table, Kitsune flicks one of her tails and the small group vanishes with a fwish...
Slateport Hotel, Ren's room
-... and reappear here.-Lumen: Oooh that was neat. I've never teleported before.
-Lumen looks around the suite.-
Lumen: And this place is very different from Kaguya's!
-Lumen starts looking at Ren's electronic equipment where Ren was preparing for his meeting with Jacob.-
Ren: -glancing at Lumen then back to Lucinda- I was under the impression I was only meant to supervise only one Latii.
Lucinda: Well Lumen is my son, so I wanted to see him off properly.
Ren: Ah. In that case, please sit and we can discuss what needs to happen while I look after Lumen.
-Ren indicates the edge of the bed as he pull over a chair at sits in it.-
Lucinda: -sitting on the corner of the bed.- Thank you Mr. Renard.
Ren: First off, please call me "Ren". Next, I think you and Lumen should properly meet my team.

-Lumen is sitting in the floor with Atlas on his head as they watch TV. Keys has is watching [You Tube] on Ren's tablet. Gamma is busy working on sorting and compiling the materials Ren made for Jacob. Vanamonde is busy grumbling about the quality of the coffee maker as he drinks his coffee near the ceiling. Kitsune is lying down wrapped around Ren's chair. Carlotta, Conifer, and Rontgen are eating a snack of Pokeblocks and Poffins. Pierre is reading a book. Rio is an a corner watching all this going on as Ren and Lucinda talk.-Ren: Anything else I need to know about?
Lucinda: Well since I've been tasked as the colony's representative in this matter, I'll be staying on the mainland until further notice.
Ren: -sweatdrop- Am I to assume that means your staying with me as well?
Lucinda: No. I'll be moving around unless needed.
Ren: Ah. Well that makes thing easier.
Lucinda: Anything I need to know about you Ren?
Ren: Well in case it comes up...
-holding out his right wrist to show a red braclet- Kitsune?
Kitsune: <Mind staying like this for the day?>
Ren: Why not?
-This exchange cause Lucinda to put on a rather confused expression which quckly fades into a surprised Latias' face as Kitsune fires two Flamethrowers at and are absorb by Ren' bracelet.-
Ren: Ignis Intra.
-with a Flash of light, Ren shifts to his Pokeform-
Delphox!Ren: -To the stunned Latias on the bed- <With the right amount of fire, I can shift between human and Pokemon.>
-Carlotta sits starting at Ren, a bit of poffin on her the coner of her mouth. Atlas stunned into silence and stillness. Lumen, on the other hand...-

-The carpet under Igneous's feet catches fire.-
Igneous: <YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! Now you're going to go around saying I'm wrong about stuff I got thrown into firsthand?!>

-Igneous, being focused on Eskay, doesn't notice Zephyr slipping behind him and fidgeting with the armband on her leg.-
Igneous: <WELL SCREW YOU TOO! If you won't listen to a perfectly reasonable complaint, then clearly violence is the only answer! Now— >

Zephyr: So I'm guessing he used to be a Tyranitar?
Eskay: Yeah. I'm guessing Dialga devolved him, if anything he just said has any credit to it. His ego hasn't changed much, though.
Zephyr: Huh. Think we should head somewhere else before he wakes up?
Eskay: Probably, yeah.
Zephyr: Got it. You head out, I'll make sure the runt isn't on top of anything flammable when he wakes up.

-He grabs his bag and goes. Once the door closes, Zephyr turns toward Igneous, grinning.-

Zephyr: Hey, I needed a new shirt. He burned the old one, and I'm pretty sure you didn't want that unraveling in a public place.
Eskay: ...It wouldn't have unraveled that easily, though.
Zephyr: Have you ever had a cheap shirt catch fire?
Eskay: ...I... can't say I have, no.
Zephyr: Exactly. I know what I'm doing.

-Igneous is still unconscious, but right next to him is a picture of what seems to be a rather dorkish-looking blond-haired man, unfortunately reduced to just his underwear.-

Okay, first things first, you should have let me know that you were leaving, that just kinda seems like common courtesy. And second things second, why are there unconscious people on the floor and scorch marks on the carpet?? We could get sued by the hotel for property damage!!

It's kinda sad, I've got both of my parents, yet so many people in this group are either orphans, come from broken families, just plain dislike their parents, or some combination of the three. Maybe that's why no one really bothers asking about my familiy, they probably think there's some bad story there or somet-
