TV Tropes Let's Play project!

So, spawning from the Troper Updates topic, I got the inspiration to try and organize a group-Let's Play!

There's a few things though:

• A group-LP needs... a group. Obviously. So, are there any tropers willing to try this out?
• Technical stuff. Obviously, we won't be able to get together and just sit playing the game a la Sonic 2006, we'll need a solution for everyone to play/watch the player and talk. Skype?
• ... We need a game. Ayup.

I'm planning on doing a Let's Play of Rugrats: Search for Reptar, so if any of you would want to accompany me through that journey, speak up now.

That one's PS 1, right?

I'm just kinda irked by the fact that it's a RUGRATS game. Derp.

What's wrong with Rugrats?

I don't like Rugrats either, but that game has been pretty much the most consistently requested game during my livestreams.

I don't know, I just don't really like it. XD

Play a Widget.

It's a pretty horrible game to boot, so you can get a lot of comedy value out of it.

On the other hand, Gaming In The Clinton Years loved it...

@Grog: Oh, in case you hadn't heard, Proton Jon, Chuggaconroy, and Nintendocaprisun have a collab sort of thing going on. The first game they're playing is Mario Party.

Actually, a party game sounds like a good idea. If Dokupan Journey is anything like Mario Party, then you'll all be at each other's throats by the end. Which will be hilarious.

The problem is that we can't actually be physically next to one another, so we can't play a multiplayer game simultaneously.

Dokapon Journey is actually more like Mario Party meets Dragon Quest. The main goal for all players is to get LOTS OF MONIES. And you can screw over everyone else royally.

You sure? Dokapon is hotseat...

I was kinda sure we weren't gonna do this without some form of emulation, to be honest...

I'd rather not capture off of emulation, I prefer using the original consoles for these.

Owch, that at least makes it kinda difficult on my side, to be honest...

Well, I was planning on doing post-commentary, anyway...

Oh right. Ah well, first I want to rally up some more people, to be honest XD

When it comes to showing the video to everyone involved, Skype is a decent option IF everyone has a decently fast connection. Otherwise it gets kind of slideshowy.

If you can decide on a game to record and we can get everything set up so that co-commentary is viable, I'll be up for co-commentary.

I wouldn't mind participating, though I don't know how much help I'd be. This would be one person playing and the others watching over Skype and commenting?
