Wow, from the moon to Saturn! Maybe they'll gain enough horsepower to take a road trip to another galaxy!
Also, great Itsuki episode. Punching holes in Saturn's rings was good, reckless fun.
Hikaru's savvy enough to know when Minato's gonna get the drop on them. And just love how he gets blown away lately.
The inconsistency of the Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale is kind of funny. I mean, they had the distance and size of the Moon about right. But then they just happen to pass Mars and Jupiter on the way to Saturn (and don't recognize either one) and go through an Asteroid Thicket. But they get the size of Saturn's rings right. Artistic License, I guess.
That was a dark fairytale. These character episodes have been pretty good.
@Hylarn Some very rough calculations give me about 0.99996c for Earth->Saturn given their approximately 40 second (subjective) travel time and assuming the planets are lined up. Admittedly with some very significant simplifications. Additionally, it seemed to take about 7 seconds for the ones down on the surface to get out of the atmosphere, giving only 17km/s for that part of their journey (increasing the needed velocity for the remaining distance).
So this episode was essentially an extended reminder that it's a Gainax series
So Minato and bad guy aren't quite the same guy? Or two separate consciousness? Something funky is going on. Pretty tense episode actually. That is one big ship.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Yeah, that alien explanation was delightfully bonkers.
So Minato and Horned Cape are not the same. A lot of mysteries not being solved yet.
It better not be.
Bishounen mirror halves with heavy yaoi vibes.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.If it was a stable time loop, I get the impression that garden!Minato knows about it and decided to finally break it this time around.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Just hanging around in the sun's corona
Subaru and Aoi should just kiss already
Next episode is going to be about Nanako, apparently. I've been interested in her, so that's good
And now they're flying around the sun. That is some sweet magic to be able to withstand that heat. Timeline shenanigans strike again. Minato is still super mysterious guy. Next time, we finally get some Nanako development.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Subaru/Aoi support level increased!
That was a sweet solar expedition. Reminded me of Solar.
Minato no Nazo continues. But at least Subaru knows his new hang-out spot. Which is kinda the same as his previous hang-out spot.
Nanako gets her time in the spotlight next time. Sweet.
So about the different Minatos, it's Face Palm obvious they're all Minatos from parallel universes. And the greenhouse belonged in another universe too.
Since when does the henshin involve...what anime is this again?
Poor Aoi is so jelly...
Fekkin anime girls wearing shorts in the actual snow. Later, they fly around the sun.
And here I thought they were sinking the Aoi/Subaru ship for Subaru/Minato. Headbutt of Love .
Even if he's a different Minato, he's still an Minato.
Hooray, Nanako time! Also next episode, the girls discover Subaru's two-timing. (She's totally never gonna voluntarily pick one over the other.)
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot....
Your first point is a good theory. Yep, I sure face-palmed a lot after reading your post.
Although, it's still a mystery because...why are there two Minatos in the same universe?
I was going to say what alternate universes but then remembered the aliens already conquered that.
So I guess I won't be surprised if that happens.
Oh, that was interesting. Wonder if the causality-screwing will come up again
Nanako has simultaneously been the loudest and quietest person in the cast. Her reserved nature and relationship with the President makes her the most mysterious member of the main cast. Turns out she's bitter over her parents' divorce and doesn't really trust anyone to stand by her. Or she didn't at least. A certain alien whose shape she molded changed that, and the friends she made solidified her new feelings. Manages to be even more melancholic than the others. Also, 3 months? I can see the President stand in for her for a week maybe, but 3 months? Must be hard on the others. Thankfully the way space works Nanako only had to spend half a day alone, but still. Nice new planet/star they found. Nanako should try getting dibs on naming it. She really is close to the President.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. So Nanako always felt she was alone. Well, when the divorce happened. But by meeting the President(who took that form thanks to a drawing made by her brother...and her own feelings.) and the others, she realizes that she has some po-warmth in her life...
Nice birthday gift, by the way.
Still, three months with President Nanako? Must've been tough. And her dad suspected nothing?
Hey, since they went back in time, Subaru and the others can tell what's gonna happen from now on! ...Nah!
Another heartpo-warming episode.
Nanako's got some very deep personal issues, but she's awesome.
So, nobody minds Subaru's cheating ways? They're po-warmed by it instead?
Her dad seems nice. Mom's kind of a cold bitch for not visiting, ever, but. She probably got the better parent.
We get to see how she met the alien. This series gets more and more trippy.
Subaru's the most naturally empathic of the cast.
Meet Apate.
Suddenly, we live in a binary star system. Nothing would ever be the same again. Except in this anime it probably won't change much.
Well, that's convenient. It probably shouldn't work that way, buut magic physics sure are convenient. Guess Nanako will keep up with her studies and not make her father/teachers/classmates worry too much. Speaking of which, her copy could only say a few phrases, but could it pass tests? That alien should have some brains.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Wouldn't change all that much, really. It's too far away to have much effect on Earth's climate, and the mass is the same as something that's already there, so all the orbital patterns will be the same
I like how Nanako said po-warm. Not sure why, but it sounded nice.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. So the impression I'm getting here is that the story outline called for Minato to be important, but when it came time to actually make the series the staff just didn't find themselves caring about him much
So even Subaru forgot she was in the astronomy club. I guess they're not going to use the fact that they've been through this culture festival aside from Nanako, though I guess they did say they were doing that last episode. Subaru/Minato is so po-warm everyone else thinks they're dating. Which I guess isn't too far off the mark. Time to tour the universe. Extra backstory further connecting the two. Too bad they can't remember this stuff. Could they have taken cameras? And Subaru forgets something kind of important.

Spaaace. And Saturn. They certainly are getting stronger. Itsuki doesn't want to cause anyone trouble. Just mess up Saturn's rings to save the day.
