It was decent.
last.fmWell...it wasn't disappointing, that's the best I can say.
#IceBearForPresidentI'm still wondering what the point was.
Me too, really.
If there turns out to be good fanart based on it, then I will say it was a decent show for that reason alone. But the show itself was pretty pointless. Like, as a Subaru ad and as an anime in general...
I posted about this in the Chatterbox, but I guess I'll comment here as well.
It was okay, except I had major Viewer Gender Confusion about the guy. I'm still kind of confused about the whole collecting machine parts thing, but eh, I guess I'm not really expecting much anyway.
The animation was very pretty, though, so it was nice to watch even if the plot was minimal.
Subaru was okay, but I'm feeling a little tired of the lovable clumsy Genki Girl heroine type.
Actually, I think it would be quite nice if more studios would do one-shot anime like this, sort like one-shot manga. But the costs are much greater, so it's not very likely.
Tumblr here.Yeah. I just made a page for it. It seems hard to add things to it considering there's only 4 episode.
Not nearly enough to summarize an entire series.
This may be the birth of a new franchise for Gainax.
Nice proYect-wonders why they decided to call it "Wish Upon the Pleiades" instead of actually translating the title-
Isn't Pleiades a brand name?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!....uh, is it? I thought they were just referencing the group of stars known as the Pleiades (or "Subaru" in Japanese)?
Tumblr here. What Tumbril said. Pleiades is just the name of the group of stars.
If you were asking that because you thought I meant they should translate that or something... I just meant that it seems weird to call it "Wish Upon the Pleiades" instead of "Afterschool Pleiades." It's mostly just personal preference I guess, though, since I just prefer there to be as few different names for one thing as possible.

Nice proYectNecro for the anime series? Necro for the anime series.
Episode 3: A parents appears! Thank goodness, after the last magical girl anime I watched I was getting seriously creeped out by the lack of parents.
Will we ever see any more parents, probably not.
You're really bad at faces, Subaru. And voices. And genre savviness.
Suddenly got a lot more CG!
What made you think everyone could fly? Kids are silly. Or is that the way it was in her old universe?
He's easily flustered.
Suddenly magical swimsuit episode!
I don't think it's a good metaphor either, Aoi.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Oh, didn't know we had a thread for this
So, the series has been alright. Strange in a low-key way. Pretty
Wondering where they're going with the boy when Subaru's love interest seems to be Aoi
Lesbian shipping already?
I really like this for some reason. Filling the gap Yuki Yuna left. Even being a product endorsement isn't negatively impacting this show.
didn't watch the original ONA
Love triangle, guys. Come to think of it, I can't think of any triangles where one pairing is straight and the other lesbians in the shows I've watched. So that's nice.
Nice to see a Dark Magical Boy too, outside of Binan Koukou, which... doesn't really count.
This is a weird little show. I like it.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Character development episode for yellow. Probably the weakest so far, but not bad. Next episode looks like it should give black a reason to exist, which is nice
That was my initial thought, but the show's been doing a lot more to frame Subaru and Aoi's relationship as romantic than Subaru and Minato's
And you never watched Kannazuki No Miko?
Nope, never :P And the ship tease between Subaru and Minato seemed stronger in the ONA, so I expect it to ramp up as things move along.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Sweet, Hikaru-focused episode. I liked how her parents believed her when she wrote that she was going to the moon. Gave 'em a chance to tell her how they felt about her contribution to their dreams.
I like Nanako being the Pleadian's translator. I also like how she personally stops the translations.
Looks like next episode's an actual Itsuki-focused episode. Yay.
Yeah, just going 400km above Earth on a flying stick in a tiny magical girl uniform is no big deal. The moon is totally different.
In this episode we learn a little more about Hikaru's deal. Presumably, we will get episodes for all the characters (hopefully including the alien and the purple girl who seems to only act as a translator). Because they're all still pretty vague.
So he included her note.
Parents! So many parents! Holy shit! They exist!
I like how they demonstrated how having the alien on her head works this episode.
In addition to KNM, there's also Tamako Market, though the girl was never a real contender and never attempted to confess her feelings.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Saki Fujita is earning her keep.
Another fine episode.
Today I learned things about Saturn's rings. This show is as much edutainment as it is car commercial... not that that's a hard standard to beat.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo. They should probably have destroyed Earth, given that they were pulled out of the atmosphere at several times c
Who needs the laws of physics, man? All we need is symbolism.
I'm half getting the feeling that what happens in space stays in space is something like all just a dream, though.
Link (assuming we have a page for it): Houkago No Pleiades.
It's a very short (as in, the whole thing is 24 minutes long. Four episodes, six minutes each) Magical Girl series that apparently was released via Youtube a couple days ago. Made by Gainax apparently as a really weird advertisement for Subaru.
Anyway, I just watched this and... I dunno. It wasn't exactly great, though I wouldn't expect it to be, considering the length and the fact that it was made as a car advertisement (which does not feature any cars). Still, it was entertaining, and I liked the character designs.
Anyone else watch this?
EDIT: It appears we don't have a page. -sigh- I guess I'll have to make one later.
