I'm probably the only one here that actively goes to /m/ and 4chan. While it really is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, I've been dwelling there for so long I've become resistant to most trollings, and I can honestly say that it is one of the best forums on the internet. Sometimes fascinating threads are made there, like the WMG ones Zelda always inspires on /v/.

This is one such thread.

This was formed after the Star Wars with Mecha thread, but unlike Star Wars (where they just replaced the space ships with mecha and deleted the Ewoks) this is a complete rewrite of the series; sometimes a Fix Fic for certain characters, and most importantly GLORIOUS.

- —

If you want to know the backstory of this work go read Harry Potter. If you want to know about all of the mecha used go play the games Super Robot Wars. You can either visit the Characters page on this very site, or visit The Gate of Magus for pictures. Alternatively you can go view this file as well to see the mechs in all their sprited glory.

I will try to post them in proper order and have enough links directing to the messages they reply to, but I don't do this on tvtropes forums very often so it will take some time.

CHARACTERS

Harry Potter

"It sets ITSELF on fire?!" ~After having been set on fire by Draco Malfoy in an attempt to set the Sword of Gryffindor on fire.

Sorted into Gryffindor House and assigned to the combat squad after passing the aptitude test, Harry's greatest achievment at that point had been 'crash Gespenst' and 'Utterly Total Gespesnt.' However when Severus Snape gave him the Excellence Harry's potential shone through and he saved his squadmates from certain death at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange, the Black Hurricane. Harry isn't a people person as he grew up abused for 10 years and thus any friendships he does forge he defends fiercly and stupidly. He also however has to deal with everyone watching his every move due to being the 'Boy Who Lived' judging him for recieving a custom unit when he got his first one utterly trashed.

At the end of his first year, Harry is made the leader of Ace Squadron, consisting of the 5 pilots (including himself) who managed to shoot down Bellatrix Lestrange, from then on he stops seeing things from the view of a soldier and the whole of Hogwarts, not just his close circle of friends, becomes his responsibility.

Ronald Weasley

"I really don't need to pull the trigger since you're dead or dying, but I'll indulge myself this once" ~Prior to pulling the trigger on his G-Impact Stake impaled in the cockpit of an enemy pilot

Ron failed the aptitude test and was not assigned to the combat squad, instead he was assigned to the mechanic division in charge of taking care of and repairing the pilots machines and also the whole ship. Ron however wanted to do more than just fix machines, and so when Harry Potter had his Gespenst Mk.II marked off as 'Garbage' he took the remains of the machine and began restoring it using spare parts and pieces of other junked machines. After months of work the Gespenst Mk.II AXE was completed, armed with an Assault Axe (made from broken Assault Blades and Steel Knives) an M90 Machine Gun, 3 Plasma Stakes and the remote controlled split missiles 'Pawn Bits' the Gespenst debuted in battle against 5 Zechariah units, despite being beaten badly the Gespensts managed to destroy all 5 of the enemy units. For insubordination Ron was thrown into the brig for a week, however it was recognized that he was indeed a talented pilot and the Gespenst was fixed properly and Ron was assigned to the combat squad full time.

Ron was the most boring character (save maybe Ginny) in the entirety of Harry Potter's main cast, therefore he is now Ginger Kai Kitamura as to offset his previous lameness. Ron is friendly, fierce, and lucky. Only luck can explain how he often trashes his Gespenst, only to repair it to be better than ever and suffer no injuries. He's also a shrewd business man and has no moral qualms about charging his friends for the parts he 'lends' them. Oh yeah, since Ron's the one who does nearly all his fixes to the Gespenst, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to give him a Gilliam Yaeger-like "CALL! GESPENST!" scene.

Hermione Grange

"I am Aurora Borelias, Nothing more, Nothing less" ~ Glad for once that her friends don't understand what she's talking about

Hermione Granger was a shoe in to Ravenclaw and scored the highest on the pilot aptitude test. This alienated her from the other first years which caused her to be snobbish back to them. The difference between Hermione and Harry was that while both were excellent pilots Hermione had no mind for innovation, while Harry thrived on finding various ways to survive against the Death Army Hermione was by the book for every spell, every manouver and every action she took was dictated by a book.

So when Hermione found herself in a situation not handled in a book, facing down actual soldiers instead of unmanned grunts, soldiers who could think outside the box she discovered the first time that books weren't everything, that tests weren't everything.

Ron hadn't even passed the aptitude test and yet he had handled the situation better than her. The same humbleness led to the other first years going a lot easier on her.

Hermione also suffers from self-doubt, she knows she's an excellent student but she's afraid to attempt something on the fly for fear of failure or hurting those around her (Note: Accident with magic?) when she attempts Ra M Vs for the first time she crashes her machine and puts herself in the hospital right when the ship needed her on duty the most. During the final battle of the year Neville Longbottom took a hit that could have killed him because she started freaking out in the middle of combat.

Overcoming her self-doubt is why she signed on to be a pilot in the first place, so she could fly free.

This is a lot harder than it looks but I'm not going to stop.

Nevile Longbottom

"Every single scar on my chest, ever drop of blood I spill, means a scar someone else won’t wear, means blood no one else has to lose. And that means I win." ~Neville Longbottom takes pride in his injuries

A clumsy boy who barely passed into the combat squad, Neville was assigned to Hufflepuff House. He was a creature of curiosity to the other first years, keeping to himself and crying a lot. He had the unfortunate tendenancy to crash his Armorlion a lot leading to derogatory nicknames and eventually being pulled from the Combat Squad.

Neville however becomes a different person when Bellatrix Black is involved and upon discovering she's on the battlefield forced his way into the hanger and launched after her in the Armorlion. He was shot down, injured but had shown surprising aptitude in the battle leading to Snape unlocking the seals under the Castle.

There Neville was shown and told the story of the Giganscudo, the machine that had ended the lives of everyone onboard a School Ship during the Hope Incident, the machine that destroyed every ship it had been tasked to guard. Snape was now giving the Giganscudo to Neville to see if he had what it took to turn the Giganscudo into a shield for his friends.

And that he did, Neville bravely defended his allies with the Giganscudo, forcing it under his control despite the (quite literal) curse on the machine. For the skill he showed everyone from every Hufflepuff to Slytherin gave him a standing ovation. The Hufflepuff first years would paint a coat of arms on their Armorlions in the shape of the Giganscudo's shield. Neville suffers from the same issues all the main kids suffer; his parents were for some reason or another never around. As such he became quite klutzy when dealing with constant comparison to his parents by his grandmother and uncle. Neville really is quite skilled as is shown when he finally gains confidence but when he makes one mistake it tends to snowball for him.

Draco Malfoy

"If you recognize this sword there is no need for me to speak my name, if you do not recognize this sword you don't deserve to know my name!" ~Draco Malfoy about to kill bitches

The Scion of the House of Malfoy, Draco passed his aptitude test fairly easily; he however did not expect an actual war between the Death Army to break out. As such he had himself removed from the list and never sortied into combat, he did however continue bragging that if he was out there in the field he would be racking up an impressive ammount of kills.

However this fame died for him when the other first years actually did start doing impressive things. Harry Potter wasn't 'The Boy Who Lived' he was 'That guy who put the Excellence Strikers claw right through a Zechariah'

Draco needed a way to grab back his popularity, and so he challenged Neville Longbottom to a duel using Shutzwalds, knowing that he had used them and Neville had never. He had not counted on Neville being a better pilot than he was period, not driven by a desire to be cheered on but by a desire to prove himself as an expert pilot.

Draco's loss made it easy for Bellatrix Black to convince him to come over to the Death Army to look at their new unit. The Grungust Type-0 was the first Super Robot of its kind, designed by his father Lucius Mafoy as the ultimate Ship Destroying Mecha. The Zankantou the machine carried would be enough to sink Hogwarts in a single swipe.

The moment Draco was keyed in as the Type-0's pilot and launched into combat he turned on his benefactors and cut their ship in half. Draco may not have liked Harry or the others, but they were certainly preferable to the Death Army.

Draco wound up spending 2 weeks in solitary confinement when he returned to Hogwarts. When he emerged from his sentance however he discovered a small party thrown by Harry and Neville for him. He had been a jerk they reckoned, but he was on their side. Draco responded by joining in the festivities.

Luna Lovegood

"Exactly what is 'Love' supposed to do for me?"

"Often Strike, Accel, Gain, Luck, Flash and Valor for the cost of 60-80 SP" ~Luna Lovegood to Harry Potter, Breaking the Fourth Wall

In Harry's second year of Hogwarts he met two new stand out arrivals. Ginny Weasley the little sister of Ron Weasley, and the mysterious Luna Lovegood. Luna was by all rights insane, ignoring the pilot aptitude test because she said they already had her pegged for the bridge crew, she seemed to have precognitive powers but at other times it simply seemed like she knew stuff, not that she was predicting it.

Luna mostly used her position on the bridge to chat with the pilots one on one while relaying them information, Neville said that she helped them get a lot of things off their chest when they were feeling distressed.

When pilots began dropping due to petrification she was assigned to the Wildraupiter to cover for shortages and she often kept her radio open to Harry and Draco to chat with them during the battle. When the conflict with the Basilisk was resolved she retired the Wildraupiter with no issues

In her 3rd year however she was made one of the pilots of the Fairlion duo (the other piloted by Cho Chang) when Hermione Granger found 'Unit Gothic' to be too embarrassing to pilot. She agreed to pilot the unit though said that after the year she would have no use for it as her own 'chariot' was arriving for her. Originally taken as one of her many delusions at the end of the year Cedric Diggory was killed in action and he left the Zamzeed unit to Cho Chang causing Luna to abandon the Fairlion since her partner was officially out.

In her next year however what she said came true and a PT descended from on high to be piloted by her alone. A gift from 'The Fury' she said as she climbed inside the Vorlent and took to the skies in combat.

Ginny Weasley

"I scored higher than Ron, so why is it I just can't keep up with my stupid brother?" ~Ginny Weasley not getting the power of Gespensts and Courage

During the Harrys second year he was introduced to Ginny Weasley, Ron's younger sister and new pilot recruit. A lot had changed on Hogwarts that hadn't been noticed in the world outside, so Ginny was surprised to see her brother eating dinner with Draco Malfoy and politely discussing the previous day’s classes. It took Ginny a long time to realize that what she thought wasn't how things were however and this caused her to be removed from the front lines. To further add insult to injury when Harry Potter was tasked with selecting the new pilots of Ace Squadron he overlooked her entirely despite having a higher aptitude than Neville, Draco and Ron all of whom he accepted in.

However there WERE circumstances to her bad attitude in the form of Tom Riddles’ diary slowly sucking her dry of her happiness, love, courage and leaving nothing but her hatred and sadness. This lead to her being the perfect choice when the Basilisk chose to merge with her Gespenst.

After being saved and watching Draco Malfoy look after her while she recovered she apologized profusely and was shocked to find the school telling her there was nothing to forgive. Ginny returned to piloting the Lo E based Prototype 'Valsione' making her a hit among the schools burgeoning Ryusei population. She would also later sign up for the Steel Beowulf project.

Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Love, Katie Bell

"You can just call us the Love Trio."

"I thought we decided on Bell Squad?"

"As you can see we haven't quite worked out the name yet." ~The girls invoking a rather nostalgic memory

The Chasers are a trio of older Gryffindor students who pilot 3 custom Gespensts and were a former part of the Quidditch Team before the activity was deemed impossible to hold due to the flying ships and the war. Taking great joy in teasing whatever young boy gets in their path and great pride in their piloting skills and team attacks. A great Calamity of flirting and pranks is said to befall the ship should the Weasley Twins and the Chasers ever spend more than an hour together. And most pilots believing the rumor endeavour to keep them occupied with other things.

During the 5th year when Angelina was facing graduation the Trio were rewarded for their service with the Ixbrau units, an attempt to Mass-Produce the Excellence but removing the Jet-Cockpit. The result was deemed a failure as the Ixbrau did not have a stable energy system, needing to constantly be within a certain range of the ship or it would run out of power. Still the Trio made use of them to the final days of the war, choosing to remain onboard the ship even after their graduation.

Dean Thomas, Daphne Greengrass, Padma Patil

"Are you sure we have to do this?"

"Yes otherwise the combination will utterly fail."

"Fine... Psychic Field, On!"

"Tronium Engine, Full Drive!"

"I've ALWAYS wanted to say this. VARIABLE FORMATION!" ~Dean Thomas, Daphne Greengrass and Padma Patil discussing the finer points of Combining Super Robots

Dean Thomas was a first year in Gryffindor alongside Harry and Ron. For a Half-Blood he always showed a surprising amount of Magic potential though he wasn't as adept at using it as say Hermione. When the call for the SRX Project went out however Dean was selected to participate and pilot the R-1 unit. He was formally introduced to his partners then and there. Inside R-2 was Daphne Greengrass, a Slytherin girl skilled with the Shutzwald and Padma Patil from Ravenclaw who had been training to use Remote Bit weapons and was skilled in the art of Divinitation and psychic energy. The three struggled to get along for various reasons until Mc Gonagall who was head of the project offered them an ultimatum. They would work together or she would personally throw them all overboard. There first attempt at combining left Padma in the hospital for several weaks and forcing her twin sister Parvati of Hufflepuff to take over the control of the R-3. The trio however succeeded in combining for the first time in order to save the Ace Squadron from the Ezekiel piloted by Quirrinus Quirrel in the 5th year. They destroyed the Ezekiel in a single 'Goan Genocider' after which Daphne decreed that Dean was no longer allowed to name the attacks they used.

Seamus Finnigan seems obsessed with the idea that Dean has stumbled into a Harem situation and hates his best friend for not noticing.

Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle

"All we need to know is that Draco needs our help."

"You two are going to die!"

"We may not be as skilled as you Longbottom, but aint nothing in hell that can kill us" ~Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle show loyalty to their friend.

Crabbe and Goyle were two 'minions' of Malfoy who were trained from birth two follow the boy loyaly. Draco never exactly treated them with a lot of respect which surprises him and Harry when it turns out just how loyal the two boys are.

Crabbe actually has no desire to steer Draco down the path of working for the Death Army and is instead happy that he's found friends like Luna and Neville. He's actually a rather adept pilot with a high kill count but he's silent most of the time and never brags or draws attention to anything he does. He's also a rather skilled classical pianist and plays a ballad at Cedric Diggorys funeral out of respect for someone who had saved their lives in the past.

Goyle on the other hand is a little more talkative, but it's mostly asking favours of other people to ensure the Ace Squadron don't have to do nearly as much work. Again he's a talented pilot who could have recieved a custom unit long ago but was quite happy piloting anything from a Shutzwald to a Blood Ark so long as he was doing something good. He also organizes relief efforts around the ship to help Hagrid in keeping it clean.

The universe rewards them for their Loyalty and Kindness when they retrieve two Death Army units, the Goryu Kai and the Raiko Kai, serving alongside Draco at his wish.

Oliver Wood

"Oh you can think of me as just another one of your team mates. Except I have a Lord of Elemental. And psychic powers." ~Oliver Wood being modest

Oliver was the former captain of Gryffindor's Quidditch team and the big brother mentor for Harry Potter. He is another one of the few students who is adept in Divinitation and a Psychic, he was originally scheduled to leave at the end of Harry’s three years but brown beat the staff into allowing him to stay, offering up his Lord of Elemental Jeifar as a reason.

If Oliver set his mind to a task he didn't mind the cost so long as the he completed it, even if it meant giving his own life. However if Oliver was looking for a place to die he was often very disappointed as he seemed very good at his job of beating the Death Army up. When Cedric Diggory died Oliver had one last drink with the man who was going to join him as a leader after his final year. Oliver is also responsible for the planning and testing of units like the Weissritter.

Seamus Finnigan

"Do it man, just say it once and we'll leave you alone."

"Ugh fine... Rider Kick!" ~Seamus has the misfortune of piloting the Kamen Rider bot in a school full of Ryusei's

Seamus Finnigan, along with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Dean Thomas was the only first year Gryffindor to be accepted into the combat squadron (though Ron came later) he's the most relaxed of the bunch as well, upon being informed that Bellatrix Black is still alive he responded with a simple 'Sucks' and went right back to snoozing on Hagrids lawn. In reality Seamus just isn't one to focus on the negatives in life and instead look to the future of positives. His best friend Dean is in a harem situation even if he doesn't realize it. His other two good friends get to be close to hotties like Luna Lovegood, Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley

"Dude she's my sister! And your picturing her naked!"

"So what? She’s not my sister."

~A typical conversation between Ron Weasley and Seamus

Seamus was made the pilot of the Weissritter alongside Ginny in the Alteisen where he made it his life goal to flirt with her at least once a day, no matter the situation. Even if they were under heavy fire from the enemy, trapped behind enemy lines, and his silence would guarantee their safety.

However when the Demetors attacked he was thrown out of the Weissritter as it was devoured by the Dementors and regurgitated as the Rein Weissritter. Depressed for the first time in his life he wandered the halls before stumbling upon the hanger for the Super Robot Dairaioh. An upgraded form of the Raioh's used by Gryffindor. Determined to get out of his funk he took the Raioh out against the Dementors and succeeded in killing them with the LIOH system. Though he was informed of the dangers he happily informed any worried crew members that he was too positive to let the system control him.

Had a habit of kissing the female crew members and getting slapped for it. Remarking that life was good.

Penelope Clearwater

"Percy says that I shouldn't have to fight because my Lo E is a healer"

"That's kinda sexist"

"Yeah he is quite a prat"

Penelope is a Ravenclaw Prefect and the pilot of the Lo E Falk, She is also dating Percy Weasley but it's near impossible to tell who wears the pants in the relationship. Though Ron after observing them for a day says it's very definitly Penelope.

She decided to stick around after graduation as a healer even though Percy begged her to get off the ship. She was the one to help treat Sirius Black of his injuries in secret when he made it aboard the ship beaten and bloody. There she heard the stories about the original Marauders (Severus, James, Lily and Sirius) alongside the amnesiac Bellatrix Black. She also helped repair his Lo E Cybuster. When the Death Army attacked them she went out with Falk to help cover the units who had been shot down and was almost killed before Sirius showed up and replayed her for his gratitude.

She's also a big sister mentor to Hermione, willing to slap her silly to put her on the correct course.

Percy Weasley

"Everyone always makes the mistake of thinking that just cause I like to talk my problems through that I'm some kind of wimp, someone they can push around. But I can be like Charlie, I can be like Bill. You want crazy? I'll! Give! You! Crazy!"

~Percy laying the smackdown on the poor sod who mistook him for a diplomat

Percy had the very unfortunate fate of being born in the same family as Ginny, Ron, Fred and George. Because everyone looked to him expecting a badass warrior and what they got was a guy who liked to drink tea with his girlfriend rather than fight.

Percy's a right old sticker for the rules, often making sure that even in a rush the students pay attention to them and don't cause a ruckus. When Severus Snape the king of strict is telling you to lighten up you have officially hit the level of obsession.

However that is only one side of the story, Percy is just as competent a fighter as his brothers and little sister, infact more-so as he was able to command Din Force- a Lord of Elemental who had considered the Weasleys blood traitors and weaklings- due to beating it's face in with a regular old Gespenst Mk.II then having Penelope heal it so he could continue beating it's face in without destroying it permanently.

Percy can do crazy, and he can pull pranks. He simply prefers to settle matters through diplomacy and happens to like an organized structure. Which is why he often sticks to the bridge and helps out as XO when someone is sick.

Think of Percy like Yamamoto from Captain Tylor, except if you push his buttons to much he'll implode your face.

Lavender Brown

"Lavender we can't be a Ranger team"

"Give me one good reason!"

"WE WOULD ALL BE RED!"

~Harry Potter points out the logical fallacies of an all Gryffindor Sentai/Ranger team.

Lavender Brown is a little geek girl who was born into a pure blood family and had the pleasure of capturing Muggle television. Sometime on her way to Hogwarts the geek merged with the girly girl and she became 'some kind of weird hybrid of that girl who's into perfumes and hair dressing, and that girl who can tell you the names of the stunt actors from Star Trek and their credentials. Lavender positively squeed when she saw the Gespensts for the first time and made it her mission in life to score high on the aptitude test. She did so with remarkable skill though she lamented that Ron had not made it, as then Gryffindor could have had a Sentai Team of Gespensts. Lavender loved the Gespenst so much that she refused to upgrade when the R-Schneide was introduced and instead purchasing the extra parts with her own money to upgrade the Mk.II that she had found sitting in storage.

The Mk.II as it turned out was one of the few Rapidity Models which had been deemed too costly to mass produce but Lavender didn't care and set about customizing the unit. Puts on a fake disguised deep female voice and calling herself "the Black Sword" when out in combat.

Her geekiness was found endearing and she made good friends with Parvati Patil even though the latter was in Hufflepuff. She was a bit disappointed to be the only Gryffindor Girl to be assigned to the combat Squad until Ginny Weasley a year later (Who was promoted to Ace Squadron anyway) and Romilda Vane a year after Ginny.

Blaise Zabini

"I'm not about to stab you all in the back just yet, so do try not to curse me while I'm covering your arses"

Blaise was another of the Slytherin first years who was accepted into the Combat Squad, he was a crack shot with the Shutzwald and even on foot with a wand or Anti-PT Sniper Rifle. He didn't seem to like anyone in his own house or any other house, though never to the point of openly mocking them. Draco suspected that Blaise much like they had been was not open to displaying his friendships and true feeling for the world to see.

Blaise was often offered a spot by the Death Army on the times he kept his radio broadcasting on all channels, while this lead to his allies distrusting him he politely informed them that he would inform them of any attempts to betray them before it happened.

Blaise was unable to remain in the fight when his Blood Ark was shot down, and fell into a depression until he was called to the hanger. There he saw the Virgola Custom. Upgraded from the muggles' Virgola series and outfitted as a sniper unit, it was the thanks from all the pilots whose lives he had saved over the years, and it was the first time they got a smile out of him.

He would pilot the Virgola Custom until the end of the war, and latter pen a book with his true feelings on each of the other pilot’s afterwards.

Hannah Abbot

"You once said that every scar you got was proof that someone else made it out alive, now it's out time to take some scars for you Neville" ~Protecting Neville from the Death Army when the Gigan Duro's arms were torn off.

Hannah originally signed up for healing duty, looking after the pilots who were injured and recovering them from the battlefield. It's there she really met Neville Longbottom, even though they had been in the same year and house. He told her that every time he would up injured that he was proud that it wasn't someone else, and this attitude (and his constant visits to the sick ward) led to Hannah taking the pilot aptitude test.

She was assigned to the combat squad and fared rather well, the other pilots were helpful in showing her the ropes and she learned how to properly take a hit as to not injure herself (as she didn't want to wind up in the sickbay as much as Neville did)

However her Tannthor was shot down and she was seriously injured removing her from the active combat roster for the rest of the fourth year and through the fifth year due to combat sickness and freak outs.

She finally sortied again in the 6th year when Neville Longbottom was on the verge of defeat using the Grungust Kai, made from parts of the Type-0, Type-1 and Type-2 that had been recovered by Ron Weasley, the unit could transform like a Type-1, and used both the Zankantou's of the Type-0 and Type-3.

She defends Neville successfully and with blood streaming down her face regains her confidence as a pilot.

Ernie MacMillan

"It may not be Zamzeed of the Earth, but don't you DARE look down on Diablo and Me!" ~Ernie standing tall with Diablo of the Forest

Ernie was another first year student who was admitted into the combat squad. He was an ace Armorlion pilot and found that the best defense for his allies was killing the enemy before they got too close. During his 3rd year his father sent Diablo of the Forest from their estate to aid him in battle. Diablo would serve him well until the end of the war.

Ernie's was one of Harry's choices for the Ace Squadron in case Neville went down but Ernie steadfastly refused saying that if Neville went down there was no way he could fill those shoes. He was also another pupil of Cedric due to both of them having 'Earth' Lo E's though Ernie's was a class lower, and Cedric taught him the best way to get everything out of Diablo. In turn when Cho Chang became the pilot of Zamzeed of the Earth, Ernie instructed her as Cedric had him.

Ernie was promoted to the leader of Hufflepuff Squad when the Ministry turned their back on Hogwarts and openly assaulted them. As such he was present during the raid on the Ministry of Magic where he discovered there experimentation to create Lo Es without spirits. Noting with horror that he recognized just barely some of the wizards they had used as the core. Before escaping Ernie unleashed everything in Diablo's arsenal and destroyed all of the Ministry’s work.

He could also directly communicate with Dianos, the spirit who inhabited Diablo, and aided in the mass production of Blowel units by asking Dianos to bless them to get them to run.

Cedric Diggory

"Hey Wood, when this is all over you owe me a drink" ~the beginning of his final year as a pilot

Cedric Diggory 'The Immortal' as he was dubbed by the Awestruck Hufflepuffs was one of the most deadly pilots onboard, he spent up to 12 hours at a time in the Armorlion simulator pushing the machine well beyond its intended limits before being informed they had to upgrade the specs just to keep it functioning for him.

In his 3rd year when news that Sirius Black and the Cybuster had been spotted he sent word to his home to be sent Zamzeed of the Earth. When his father refused to send him the Lo E Cedric departed Hogwarts and returned a month later with Zamzeed of the Earth intact.

He, like Wood, often ran classes to help the new pilots get a better feel of their machines, and offered to each the youngsters spells that would be useful in combat. As such the two were good friends and would often share a drink of whatever they could find after a successful mission.

In his final year Cedric dated Cho Chang and showed her how to fly Zamzeed, openly communicating with the spirit Zamzu and asked him to accept Cho. The spirit apparently respected Cedric a great deal because it agreed.

Unfortunately at the end of his final year when Voldemort awakened with the Valefor he was the one to duel him alone, while the other pilots struggled to get their machines working after a night of festivities. Voldemort beat the Zamzeed into the ground preparing to destroy Hogwarts, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. Cedric gave his life to Zamzu and preformed Gorounyuudou Masamune. However the cost of strengthening the Zamzeed weapons immediately rather than over time cost him his life though he saved all 3 ships.

Cho Chang would later inherit Zamzeed from his will and Zamzu often communicated messages between the two, being a spirit and not of either world.

Cho Chang

"Cedric left the Lord of Elemental in my hands, that means no matter the cost I have to keep fighting until the enemy is dead or I am" ~Cho's rather fatalist attitude.

Cho was the Seeker of Ravenclaws Quidditch team before it was disbanded. She however received a custom Guarlion due to her high aptitude tests and her skill at melee combat. She would do battle against several of the Death Armies lieutenants alongside the Ace Squadron and formed a friendship with the pilots there. Harry after being exposed to a Dementor told Hermione that he only picked her for the Ace Squadron based on their friendship and that if she screwed up or died Cho would replace her. When Cho heard this she punched Harry in the face for sending his friend into Hysterics.

She began dating Cedric Diggory in her 5th year, and was taught how to fly Zamzeed of the Earth by him. She was devastated when Cedric was killed in battle however and became Zamzeeds pilot.

For the next year Cho would have a fatalist attitude, not caring for her own life and often pushing those around her beyond their limits. Cho didn't allow herself to cry until literally ordered to by Snape as she was dragging them down and was unfit to pilot Zamzeed.

When Cedric communicated with her through Zamzu she lightened up considerably apologizing to the people she hurt. She never dated however considering the gift of Zamzeed to her as proof that Cedric was always with her. And she piloted the Lo E until the end of the war.

Severus Snape

"Of course I knew Lily and James, they worked under me in the first ever PT squadron, me and James both tried out for the Gespenst Type-S"

"Why was that?"

"Lily was trying out for the Type-R and we were both lovestruck boys" ~Snape and Harry chatting about Snapes past

Former leader of 'The Marauders' the first ever PT Squad consisting of himself, James and Lily Potter and Sirius Black. Due to his experience as a leader Dumbledore made him the head of Hogwarts military division. He served as captain for the 6 years Hogwarts was in the air, from its launch until his departure in the 6th year.

Snape was often cruel to all of the pilots and crew from every house, offering no sympathy to them for problems and not excusing tardiness. Or at least that was the image Snape presented, he cared very much for his crew and made sure they were not too sick to work before pushing them, once ordering Luna Lovegood to the sickbay because she had been sitting in front of the console for hours waiting for any signs of the Excellence.

He also gave Harry and Neville the units they would use for the majority of the war, the Excellence and the Giganscudo, whenever his pilots were in too much danger or there was the risk of anyone dying he would personally go out in his own machine to see them to safety.

His machine was the Astranagant, a mystery with no known records, no serial numbers and no idea where it came from or who gave it to Snape. He also suffered from a form of Combat Sickness, when he put his own magic through the system of any mecha, much less the Astranagant he was in terrible pains that wracked his whole body. And if this continued for more than ten minutes the pain would intensify and knock him unconscious for days, weeks or months at a time. He would later use Morphine to counter the effects. His hardass attitude is due to his belief that he failed Sirius, James and Lily by not being a better commander and refuses to lose these kids.

Viktor Krum

"Cybuster vas once a Krum Lord, vhen the Blacks defeated us in duel, ve lost it"

"I didn't understand a damn thing he said" ~Krum and Draco's take on the impenatrable accent

Viktor Krum was one of the representives of Durmstrang during the 3 Ship meet-up during piloting the Jaohm of the Haze. He has a bit of a grudge against Sirius for the Blacks winning the Cybuster from his family and gets along rather well with the Ace Squadron, except Draco who quite honestly cannot penetrate his accent enough to talk to him.

Krum participates in various operations alongside the Ace Squad and Fleur Delacour piloting the Lo E Goddess of the Water. He also tries to act as a mentor to Neville who should be all rights is the pilot of Lo E Gramveil of the Flame, but can't seem to reach the kid.

He was also one of the pilots the Death Army considered turning to their side, however Voldemort was off the opinion that Krum would most likely kill as many as he could and still never join them, leading to the scrapping of that plan.

He invites Hermione to the Yule Ball and tries to invite her to fly in Jaohm with her, but battle begins again and she charges off to her Sieguarlion without a care for him. During the final battle of the year he attempts to protect Bellatrix Black from Voldemort so that she won’t regain her memories, however Valefor is too much for Jaohm to take and he winds up defeated but alive. Blames Bellatrix being reclaimed on his own inadequacies and departing with Durmstrang to train himself even further. Sirius promises him that the time he does he will allow Krum to duel him for possession of Cybuster.

Fleur Delacour

"I'm sorry for everything Fleur. I never meant for you to be involved"

"Sorry for giving me a chance to be a hero? Don’t be."

~Harry and Fleur share some last words before heading off to battle Voldemort

A Quarter Veela and 3 quarters human Fleur originally looks down on the Hogwarts crew excluding Cedric due to his piloting of Zamzeed of the Earth. She had been raised to believe that the Elemental Lords were the highest and belonging to the most influential families, having never spent time around Hogwarts where people were treated much more fairly skewered her perception.

However fighting alongside and being rescued by 'inferiors' led her to rethink her stance. Especially when Harry risked his life to protect her sister during combat. Due to the incident she forges a friendship with the Ace commander, and later with the rest of the Ace Squad.

Unlike Cedric who put his all into unlocking Zamzeeds true potential Fleur tempers hers over the course of the series until it finally unlocks in book 7. She also respects Neville Longbottom when she hears that he is the rightful inheritor of Gramveil, and offers to help him repair the Lo E but he refuses due to being quite pleased with Giganduro when it comes to defending people.

She departs at the end of the 4th book and returns to aid in the infiltration of the Ministry in Book 5 to say that Beauxbatons has decided to throw in their lot with the Ministry and says she will be sending Gabrielle to Hogwarts so that she can fight on their side without being roped back to Beauxbatons for any reasons.

She remains with the Hogwarts crew after that, assisting in battle and helping command the ship during the times XO Lupin is sick and when Captain Snape disappears.

Sirius Black

"Snape was never a good flyer"

"That's because that wasn't flying! It was crashing and burning!"

~Snape and Sirius debate over the finer points of Aerial combat

Sirius Black was one of the members of The Marauders, technically the founding member due to the PT's being based off his Cybuster. As a little kid Sirius was constantly looked after by his older cousin Bellatrix who thought that he would have to deal with a lot of stress as the head of the Black Household. However Sirius wanted to give Bellatrix her own power and left the Shuroga to her and taking the Cybuster for himself. It was unfortunate that this incident would lead to her eventual fall into dark magic.

Sirius was the only Gryffindor in his circle of friends which lead to him being alone and driving him to underage drinking until the formation of The Marauders. There Hufflepuff James Potter, Ravenclaws Lily Potter and Remus Lupin and Slytherin Severus Snape would become his friends. Sirius tells Harry during their first meeting that James, Snape, Lily and Remus saved his life back then. However when he learned that James and Lily had been killed he hunted down Peter Petigrew the man who had been trusted with their secret and a fellow Gryffindor during school. Before he could do anything however Peter detonated a spell that resembled the Cyflash killing everyone in the surrounding area besides Peter and Sirius before escaping.

Sirius however breaks out of Azkaban with the help of the Ace Squadron who are there to break out several students being held there by the Dementors. And later becomes a full time pilot again with the Cybuster.

Sirius meets his end at the Department of Mysteries while trying to heal the trauma he caused to Bellatrix. He apologizes to Severus and Remus before passing on.

Nymphadora Tonks

"I'm a Metamorph, I can turn into anything that I've seen before"

"Wow you must be popular at a lot of parties"

"DRACO!"

~Tonks, Draco and Harry share a conversation about the utilities of being able to turn into other people.

Nymphadora Tonks is an Auror sent by the ministry along with Alastor Moody and Dolores Umbridge to begin an Inquisition on Hogwarts. Tonks is assigned to watch Harry Potter and record his every action by pretending to be his friend; she does wind up growing closer to the Ace Squadron and fails to understand why the inquisition was placed on the school as it seems entirely normal.

Tonks takes part in the battle at the Department of Mysteries and watches Sirius Black be killed, tasked with making sure Harry lives by the dying man she breaks away from the Auror's and uses the Soul Lancer as she fights alongside the Ace Squadron.

During the last two books Tonks trains the pilots in the way of Auror level combat magic so they will be able to fight on par with the Dementors and kill them. Oddly by changing the class name to Combat Magic she avoided the curse on 'Defense Against the Dark Arts' and survived to another year.

She begins a relationship with Remus Lupin and survives the end of the war with him, remaining as his XO when deciding what to do once the war was over.

Alastor Moody

"This is an Inquisition by the Ministry of Magic to watch over the students of Hogwarts"

"Are you supposed to tell us it's an inquisition?"

"What is an inquisition?"

"It means they watch our every step and if we do something out of turn, bam were in Azkaban for the rest of our lives"

"That's ridiculous, we weren't planning to overthrow the ministry until at LEAST our Seventh Year"

~Fred and George don't take Moody’s Inquisition seriously.

Alastor Moody AKA Mad Eye Moody is an Auror with magic heavily skewered in Divinitation, this has lead Moody to become quite paranoid as he see's multiple outcomes of every action he could take at every moment of the day, the magic eye that can see through the back of his head? Also not helping matters.

Moody however doesn't believe for a second any of the students are planning anything against the Ministry, and despises Umbridge and her desire to turn a perfectly capable School Ship into a complete Military Vessel. He draws the line when he hears her plan for getting rid of the civilian side is to set up a Death Army attack and kill them all off.

From that moment onwards Moody joins Hogwarts with his Garmraid to help defend against the Death Army and to put a stop to Umbridge, he was not present for the battle at the Department of Mysteries as he was too busy defending the ship. At the end of book 6 the upgrade for the Garmraid has been completed and Moody feels he can take on the Death Army no problem, but has need of a pilot to handle the second form. To that end McGonagall a strictly non-combat person takes over the controls to defend her students.

Moody survives the final battle and remains with the ship to train future generations of wizards.

Hagrid

"Was there any message you wanted me to pass on to the Beauxbatons students Hagrid?"

"I was alive when Voldemort was a school boy, stay off my damn lawn" ~Harry and Hagrid participate in friendly conversation

Hagrid is the Keeper of Grounds at Hogwarts, or rather aptly he was until it and the surrounding area were converted into a Civilian Dome. Now he spends most of his days looking after the forest and town along with the grounds.

Hagrid has a past with one Tom Riddle who got him kicked out of Hogwarts as a child but Dumbledore had offered to keep him on as Staff as he literally had nowhere else to go. Hagrid makes it a habit of keeping the students well informed as to the going ons of Hogsmeade and making sure they don’t have to worry while they are out fighting.

In Book 5 when the Ministry places an inquisition on Hogwarts, Hagrid is one of the first people to abandon ship along with promising to help reclaim the ship at the right time when he finds the right tool.

He did find the right tool, kept by the giants as a relic and perfect for a siege battle. Hagrid spent the next few months learning how to use it before returning to Hogwarts and participating in the crew’s coup to reclaim the ship. He also participated in the battle at the Department of Mysteries. Destroying the whole department with one Hagrid Impact.

Dumbledore

"The average pilot often said that, if I truly wanted to, I could destroy the world in a week, crazy right?"

"Yeah that doesn't sound like you at all."

"I know, it wouldn't nearly take me that long!" ~Ginny and Dumbledore share small talk

Dumbledore is the headmaster of Hogwarts, also known as the cooky old man who lives in the attic, he still get's quite a bit of respect from all the students though at first it is hard to see why. His eccentric attitude can be grating to the newer students and he never makes himself seen during a combat situation. But anytime he really wants to 'Get those damn kids off his lawn' he can make them. As is the benefit of being one of the most powerful wizards in the world.

He also has control over another ancient mecha the Ialdabaoth, which could effectively destroy the known world in less than a week if Dumbledore is to be believed. However Ialdabaoth is not the easy meal ticket it sounds like. It feeds on magic and life both, the more Dumbledore uses it, the older he gets and the more magic he loses permanently. For that very reason Dumbledore makes himself scarce, hoping to prolong his power so he can better protect them.

He was the one who authorized the creation of the Marauders and designed the Gespensts and Wildschweisen all those years ago.

Fred and George Weasley

"It's the Hogwarts drinking game! Every time Snape does that thing where his face scrunches up and he screams 'What!' take a shot"

"Every time Luna Lovegood says something weird, take a shot"

"And every time Ron trashes his Gespenst, Bartender another bottle!" ~Fred and George helpfully explain the Hogwarts Drinking Game to Bellatrix Black

Fred and George are the older twin brothers of Ginny and Ron, and were two of Harry’s first combat partners. They use a pair of custom Gespensts focusing on Melee and Ranged combat respectively, though they often switch between the two units for the laughs.

They are also Hogwarts official jokers who do their best to keep spirits high onboard the ship both on the military side and the civilian side. During Book 5 they oversee the development of the Gespenst Mk.III projects and serve as the test pilots for the Wurger and Falken, eventually they kept the units full time since it fit their regular style of combat and they shared a weepy eyed drink that they were finally "Graduating from the Grunt mecha into uniqueness."

The twins got along quite well with all the pilots although they are the bane of the teaching staff as they more often than not get the students distracted, or zoned out when they should be paying attention.

They decided to stick with the ship after their final year and drew up the design specs for the Alteisen Reise as a joke effort.

VILLAINS

Bellatrix Black

"The broken down Lord of Winds that no one could pilot, and the Lord of Darkness that you were meant to inherit. Sirius, why did you give me the Shuroga and why did you take Cybuster?" ~Bellatrix laments her lot in life

Bellatrix Lestrange, born Bellatrix Black is Voldemorts right hand and the defacto leader of his forces while he suffers through living death. Bellatrix is an enigma to Harry because what is presented to him, the blood thirsty psychotic who takes pleasure in slaughtering anyone and everyone. Does not gel up with the memories he's seen of her inside Sirius's pensive, where she wasn't anywhere near as sadistic and the 'darkest' she ever got was being a tease to her little cousin.

Bellatrix's current personality is built upon trauma, stemming from when she was given the Shuroga and told that from then on she was to be the 'perfect Black' along with the trauma of Voldemorts own curses and tortures turned her into a killing machine. And removing a trauma would cause her entire personality to collapse upon itself and quite possibly leave her a shell.

She's known by the Hogwarts forces as the Black Hurricane because like a force of wind she destroys everything she comes close to. She was also the reason the Giganscudo was named the 'Cursed Shield' as she was at the controls when it destroyed the school ship though at the time she didn't know the machine itself was actually cursed.

Bellatrix broadcasts on an open channel and the Shuroga can hack into any radio streams, she does this because she loves to hear the screams and panicked cries of her victims.

Quirinus Quirrell

"I acted as an undercover agent for a year, I undermined the piloting program, I sabotaged the production facilities"

"Leading to the launching of the Excellence, the breaking of Giganscudo's curse and the Grungust Type-0 being stolen, tell me Quirrell to you intend to simply give them our resources next?" ~Quirrell realizes that his underhanded sabotage mission is a complete failure.

A servant of Voldemort and one of Deaths hands, the elite of the Death Army. Quirrell decided to take it upon himself to undermine Hogwarts from within, taking the position of Defense teacher and being utterly inept at it, purposely trying to teach his students the wrong spells that would backfire on them. His actions however simply lead to the students seeking out the older students to self educate and becoming even smarter as a result.

Quirrell is a victim of pride, he's too damn proud to realize his actions aren't working. To change the plan or to do more direct sabotage like the engines of the ship. Finally during the battle for the Philosopher’s Stone Quirrel shot Snape who had long since exceeded the Ten Minute limit on the Astranagent in the back as he launched in his Ezekiel, a command unit of the Death Army. He would continue to fight against Hogwarts until the end of the war, never giving up his vanity and pride.

The Carrows

"You mean to tell me that there are known murderers walking free, protected by the law, and now they are currently hanging in orbit with custom units that can shoot targets on Earth from space, and you only now thought it wise to inform me" ~Remus Lupin sums up the Carrows rather well

Alecto and Amycus Carrow are a brother and sister pair working for Voldemort, and two of Deaths Hands. During the 1st Wizard War they managed to get off with a pardon using a bunch of connections they had. They returned to Voldemorts side when he cured himself of the Living Death and went around conducting missions against Muggle Bases in a search for Hermione Granger during Book 7, before that the conducted assassination missions against the families of Hogwarts pilots to convince them to switch sides with little success.

Lupin was informed of the Carrows actions when he took over captaincy of Hogwarts in Book 7 and was informed that they were currently in Earth’s orbit using high powered sniper platforms.

The news caused the Hogwarts to take to space to hunt down the Carrows and their AI controlled infantry. However the Carrows true target was the moon where Severus Snape had stored his final 4 projects. When the moon proved impossible to target they instead settled for taking pot shots down at Earth and laughing at the destruction.

Ron Weasley engaged the two alone in a fight through the Earth’s Atmosphere, where the Carrows were finally killed.

Fenrir Greyback

"Cmon Lupin, what can you do against me in that old ship? Right after I'm done killing your little kiddies how about I go after those Civvies you’re protecting?" "Ramming Speed" ~Remus Lupin really doesn't like Fenrir Greyback

A cannibal werewolf who takes pleasure in turning young children, kidnapping them from their families and then raising them to be weapons. He works alongside the Death Army as a mercenary refusing any marks to serve Voldemort. Fenrir is also responsible for the slew of Dementor spawned creatures that fight for Voldemort and he's responsible for the capture of the Weissritter and Draco Malfoy which he takes great pleasure in.

Fenrir is the pilot of the Cerberus Ignite but doesn't take any pleasure in fighting with machines. As if a mockery of 'pacifist' heroes Fenrir will not go for the killing blow, aiming only to 'disarm' a unit and then appearing down and mauling the pilot personally, either turning them into a werewolf or killing them, either way he justifies his hands as 'clean'.

He has a rivalry with Remus Lupin who is the XO and later captain of Hogwarts, this lead to his death when the Battle-Side rammed into his Cerberus and unleashed its full arsenal.

Lucius Malfoy

"Lucius will continue to make more designs for us, or his family will suffer the consequences"

"Yes it's not like the Grungust Types 0, 1 and 3 were stolen or anything" ~Voldemort and Quirrell debating Lucius' loyalty

Lucius Malfoy was a Death Army soldier and also an incredibly gifted mechanic, coming up with the designs for the Gespenst series and the Soulgain among other units used by the Death Army. However Lucius doesn't really care for the cause anymore, especially when Draco refused to convert and steadfastly stood against him and Narcissa.

Some of his designs like the Soulgain’s life draining system were immoral, but Lucius had always been about the science of the machine and not the ramifications of it. This lead to his most important discovery, the Machine Cells which could restore the damage of any mech and even cure disease throughout the body. It was these cells that cured Voldemort of his Living Death and brought the Death Army up to full strength.

He used a Grungust Type-2 during the early years of the war before the creation of the Zweizergain which he used until the end of the war, fighting against Draco's Thrudgelmir in his final battle.

Narcissa Malfoy

"Draco, put down the wand. You don't have to fight on either side anymore."

"You don't get it Mother, I want to fight, I'm going back to Hogwarts and you can't stop me." ~Narcissa tries to save her son from fighting her husband

Narcissa Malfoy was the brains behind the Ashsaber, however she never wanted to join the Death Army. She was roped into it under promise that Draco would be spared rather than killed after the Death Army’s victory. As such she is responsible for the creation of the Ashsaber and training the Death Army in the use of remote weapons.

When Draco is captured she is responsible for turning the Grungust Type-3 into the Thrudgelmir and designing the Goryu Kai and Raiko Kai as its support units based on her research into the Choukijin. Originally she designed the Ryujinki to use the Grungust Type-2 and Ryuouki together but the sentient part of Ryuouki refused to let anyone in the Death Army pilot it.

In the end she grew fed up with forcing her son into battle and freed him, along with the captured Choukijin and fled alongside him in her Weiss Saber. Lucius Malfoy tracked them down and shot Narcissa down causing Draco to return to normal and swear vengeance on his father.

Peter Pettigrew

"He was a little rat your father knew, never skilled at PT combat, never good at magic, I think James was insulting him by letting him hang around." ~Severus tells Harry about Peter Pettigrew, not one of the Marauders

Peter Pettigrew had been a young Gryffindor sorted alongside Sirius Black, James Potter was a Hufflepuff so Peter attempted to guilt him into being friends, James it was presumed let him hang around as a bit of a joke.

When the Marauders were formed Peter preformed the worst in the aptitude test and the practical test, excluding him from ever piloting a PT. He attempted to take James' Gespenst out but simply couldn't get the machine to respond to him.

Despite all this Sirius suggested Peter being used as the Secret Keeper of the Potters due to no one suspecting the little kid who hung around them while they were off having adventures. Despite Lily suggesting they be their own secret keeper and Dumbledore suggesting himself as Voldemort wouldn't dare come after him.

Peter was already a Death Army lieutenant at the time since they promised him something that James had never given him. Respect and power. However for the longest time Peter simply served as Voldemorts caretaker, caring to the constant screams of pain and torment that came from suffering Living Death. He was also responsible for the initial designs of the Megillots showing that he wasn't quite as incompetent as he had let on.

However he was finally rewarded with his patience with the machine Rapiecage and gleefully carried out his strike orders against Hogwarts, leading the attack that ended with the defeat of the Ace Squadron and the capture of Draco Malfoy.

During Book 7 he was assigned to the Muggle Annihilation Squad and fought against the Huckebein units of the Muggle army. This lead to his death when Hermione Granger (under the Alias of Aurora Borelias) killed him with the Guarbein Mk.III

Homunculus L and J

"That was my mother and father, Lupin what the hell is going on?"

"The Dementors are hunting you Harry and they are the tools they have chosen." ~The horrific truth behind the Dementors creations.

Spawn of the Dementors made in the image of Lily and James Potter using the broken parts of the Weissritter and Alteisen. the Homunculus had no memories of their own, only the ones the Dementors had stolen from Sirius Black.

They tirelessly assaulted Hogwarts until Harry realized that they were hunting after him and left the ship in hopes of luring them away. However their emotion draining effect left him cold and near helpless as they prepared to kill him. Until Neville Longbottom in Gramveil of the Flames and Luna Lovegood in the Raftclans arrived and killed both Homunculus.

However this wasn't the last trick of the Dementors as they created an Einst Eisen piloted by Homunculus-J and a Personlichkeit piloted by Homunculus-L to be included in the final assault on Hogwarts.

Pansy Parkinson

"You never gave me the respect I deserved, I was never thrown out of the combat squad, I was never shot down and injured. I always fought to the best of my abilities so why was I overlooked?" ~Pansy Parkinson gives her reason for abandoning Hogwarts

Pansy Parkinson had been one of the Slytherine girls who signed on for the combat squad and passed, she was assigned a Shutzwald and scored a fair amount of kills and was one of the first pilots to try out the Giganspada. However for 4 years Pansy never received even the slightest bit of praise which she desperately yearned for, it hit her hardest when Ginny Weasley was awarded the Alteisen and assigned to the Ace Squadron, Ginny had after all thrown the squads into in-fighting during Book 2 and had been thrown out of the Combat Squad before. Pansy had also tried out for the Alteisen but been turned down at the door.

Thus when Voldemort offered students a chance to swap sides and joined him Pansy jumped that the call and struck down the students she had called friends. Still hesitant however Lucius Malfoy gave her the Soulgain, saying that the more she fought the easier it would get. This is because the Soulgain worked like the Dementors did, draining her fears, memories and restraint until she was nothing more than a killing machine out for revenge.

She fought Ginny Weasley over the years, as she was the main catalyst for her changing sides and as a memory of revenge the Soulgain wouldn't touch it. Ginny successfully retrieved Pansy in Book 7 and brought her back to Hogwarts where she would undergo treatment.

Harry revealed to Draco he never chose Pansy for the Ace Squadron because he didn't want her to go through the same pain the current members had, but those actions lead to her being hurt all the same.

Theodore Nott

"I didn't want to be in the Death Army like my father, but I didn't want to go to Hogwarts either. So I joined the Muggle Military"

Nott was the son of a prominent member of the Death Army, however he didn't particularly care for his father’s ideals and movement so he ran away and was found covered in cuts and bruises, having survived in the wilderness outside a Muggle base. The base had inquired his home and family but Nott gave them no answer. However he did show skill with the Huckebein 009 at the base and was sent to a Military Academy by the base commander where he studied alongside Dudley Dursley.

He studied how to fly the Calion jets and the proper functions of the Huckebein and was included in the Junior RT Squadron. This however lead him back into battle with the Death army alongside Hogwarts, where he piloted the Muggles Exbein model against his own father. When Hermione was picking pilots to bring with her to Hogwarts in Book 7 she chose to bring Nott with her.

The Dementors rarely affected Nott as he had no real happy or sad memories, just apathy. And while that made him valuable in fighting them Hermione does admit that it was sad.

After the war Nott would go on to form a mercenary service along side Dudley.

Dudley Dursley

"You've been fighting for your life for seven years, that's worth respect in my book" Dudley reunites with his cousin after years of absence.

Dudley was as a kid, spoiled and fat representing the worst aspects of humanity. However during Book 2 he spied a magazine smuggled off of Hogwarts featuring his little cousin on the cover and talking about the exploits of the previous year. Dudley knew what he truly wanted then, to be a pilot.

The work was tough however as Dudley was lazy and constantly pushed by his instructors. He showed no aptitude for any machine crashing his Calion time after time. However he bunked with Theodore Nott and received tutelage under the apathetic 'genius' this helped Dudley step up his game enough to at least be included in the school and after years of work he was skilled enough to select his own unit the Huckebein EX which would remain his unit through battle alongside Nott against the Death Army.

When Harry discovered his cousin had become a pilot he ordered him to resign and leave as it wasn't a game. Dudley refused seeing as Harry had been fighting since he was 11; he understood it wasn't a game but this was the first time in his life, not being pushed by anyone else, that he wanted to do something altruistic.

Dudley survived the war and retired with Nott to open a mercenary business.

Dolores Umbridge

"The Excellence hasn't been cleared to engage the enemy! Follow procedure."

"Can't hear you don't care."

~Umbridge fails to understand the basics of combat

Dolores Umbridge was assigned by the ministry of magic to launch an inquisition on Hogwarts, where upon she shut down the schools attempt to teach magic to the pilots and to separate the civilians from the battleship as the former was 'getting in the way'

She also confiscated a large quantity of the army and placed it under ministry rule not caring for the vacuum in power the 'most targeted ship in the world' would suffer. She flew in combat with her custom Eliphas unit, however at the first sign of danger she would retreat even if the people around her needed her. The only thing stopping her from taking the Bridge is fear the entire crew will revolt around her.

She tries to have the ace squadron disbanded when she finds no allies in Slytherin and Draco Malfoy vehemently opposes her by setting up his own millitant faction inside the ship. She eventually gets sick of waiting for the crew to give her a legitimate reason and instead launches an all out attack on Hogwarts. Unfortunatly for her she was unaware they had been developing the 3rd generation of grunt units while she was focused on looking for mistakes, the Blood Arks, R-Schneides, Tannthors and Gadifall rip right through the Ministry's forces. However Umbridge gets the last laugh as she destroys the Hogwart's engines and gives the Death Army their location.

During the battle at the Department of Mysteries Umbridge fought Hermione Granger who killed her with the Astelion AX's G Ra M Ds maneuver.

Unless the thread had them it can't happen.

Okay, everything that comes after this is different. What I'm going to post are the post-by-post accounts from the thread itself. Many of the posts will look very different from the character description; that because they were written before the characters were finalized. I believe it would be more enjoyable to understand how the anons and the characters arrived to that point.

Fred and George: Horyu and Enryu or Cyclone Joker or Gunbuster together.

Actually since you shouldn't go beyond students for pilots the Ryu Knights would look like

  • Knight: Harry
  • Ninja: Ron
  • Mage: Hermione (Aren't the all mages?)
  • Priest: Ginny
  • Chief: Luna
  • Gunner: Fred and George
  • Samurai: Neville
  • Dark Knight: Draco

Give them a Ship like the Gekko, or the Soyokaze. Not really like the White Base or Argamma which were really military-focused.

Have a few of the teachers on board to act as guardians/command the ship, The four houses are instead divided up into 4 squads based on various roles in combat. Ravenclaws jam, scout and analyze combat information, Hufflepuffs act as support guardians, protecting the main combatants and the Ravenclaws, Slytherine act as the midrange combatants meant to bombard the enemy with overwhelming force Finally Gryffindor are the up-close combatants who are at the most risk of getting shot down.

Rounding it up are the Ace Pilots (the main characters) with custom mecha and unique fighting styles outside their squad.

Then we got guys like Colin doing Photography like Stoner did on the Gekko (and later with his little brother) Minerva and Severus share co-captaincy (Minerva commands normally, Severus in combat, they swap to XO during the opposites situation)

Bellatrix Black is the commander of a rival warship and the pilot of the main antagonist mecha. She particularly hunts the main crew because Draco defected and even turned weapons on his own father.

A Summer of Love type of event happened during Voldemort's attack on Harry's family which drained magic from all over the world for a month long period forcing wizards to turn to technology to quell the panics (leading to the creation of Magitek) Voldemort isn't coming back because he needs a specific ritual but because he fears a second occurrence of the magic draining effect (since Harry triggered it on a small scale against Bellatrix)

Sirius and Lupin are retired war veterans with their own custom mecha and instruct Harry when he abandons the ship.

Sorry but even if we narrow 'Main Characters' down to the Trio, Neville, Draco, Ginny and Luna that's still 7. How do you have SQUADS on a single ship when they already have 7 mecha? is it MACROSS SIZED? I mean if it's Macross Sized I can get that it would also help explain the need to transfer control from a Civilian captain to a Combat captain.

But I mean you used the Gekko as an example, the Gekko could house maybe 5 mecha.

So your basically proposing a Macross x Eureka 7 x Irresponsible Captain Tylor x Supers x Harry Potter.

[[space]]

Macross Seven styled ship Divided into Civilian and Combat halves (thus giving a reason for two captains)

Instead of all the adventures happening in the school like the book they are scouring the world looking for whatever.

The first book is about the Main characters first introductions to one another and there sorting into there squads (none of them aces yet) while the ship hunts for the Philosophers Stone before the Death Eaters find it. stuff like the Troll event are Death eaters Attacking the Civilian ship and mecha combat inside the largely expanded space (think of the inside like a space colony)

At the end of the book the main characters have earned Ace Pilot status and have been promoted to their own elite unit like the Rouge Squadron or Skull Squadron.

In Chamber of Secrets war has broken out onboard between the Military and Civilian factions (Slytherin and Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff and Gryffindor) due to the attacks on all 4 of the houses and even some of the Ace's. The ship is docked for repairs over a mysterious chamber for the duration of the book.

Third book is actually about rescuing Sirius Black from Azkaban, like an actual invasion. Also the first introduction of the Dementors and Harry breaking from the ship to go out on his own.

Goblet of Fire can be the return of the Dark Lord without some ridiculous ritual, other ships meeting up to work on joint assignments and a fullscale magical creature invasion.

I'm sure someone more familiar with the books could come up with something else

—> Due to being a Creative Black Hole I'll just use Banpresto mecha

Harry: Sorted into Gryffindor Squad, doesn't really get along with Captain Snape or participate in the Intersquad dick measuring contest, he's either being treated like a hero which annoys him, shouted at which depresses him, or expected to live up to his dads legacy which he feels he can't do. First Mecha is a Gespenst II MP which is trashed and destroyed rather early on in combat against the Black Hurricane. Is later given an Excellence unit by Snape and told to fight to his heart’s content. The Excellence only furthers his problems as now more veteran pilots look down on him for receiving a special unit and he's under even more pressure to do better. Eventually he over comes these issues when he downs the Black Hurricane and in his own mind earns his place on the ship.

Ron Weasly: Sorted into Gryffindor Squad but was never assigned a combat unit. Ron recovers the scraps of Harry's old Gespenst when it's destroyed in combat and salvages along with other parts he collects from the battlefield and fixes it into the Gespenst Mk. Axe. Launching without orders he manages to successfully hold his own by keying into Scrap 'Chess Drones' and using them successfully to hold off an enemy squadron and protect his allies. He's thrown in the stockade for a week before being officially added to the combat roster.

While Harry has the various Excellence frames Ron works to constantly improve the machine he's made for himself, improving its specs all around and making it stand far and above any other Gespenst. He also continued to make Chess Drones which gives him the strategic edge with remote attacks

Hermione Granger: Muggle Born and sorted into the Ravenclaw Squad she directs the other three squads with a harsh tone, trying to control their very actions. This causes a rift to form between the other three squads and the Ravenclaws since nobody is telling them how to do their job and the claws had never actually been in front line combat.

Desperate to prove herself she takes a Wildrauptier into combat and does quite well for herself, however with no back up in the form of information or help from the other squads her mech is torn to pieces around her. Determined to not fail again she again charges off with the Gespenst Mk. Axe when Ron was in the Stockade. she manages to hold her own in battle this time and winds up thrown in there as well. However she's earned the respect of the other pilots for pulling two ballsy moves even after a frightening experience in her first Sortie. Later she becomes a scout trooper with Aile Chevalier and earns Ace Pilot status by the end of the first book.

Neville Longbottom: Sorted into Hufflepuff Squad to his displeasure he was forced to act as the guardian of the other squads, defending them from incoming attacks. His bumbling nature lead to him being taken off the active roster and put on bridge duty where he mulled for sometimes while the others fought. When the Black Hurricane returned and massacred through their troops Neville was shown the Giganscudo and told to become everyone’s shield. The only person on the field actually able to stand up to the brutal attacks he forged on ahead and earned his spot back on the active roster.

He's still timid a clumsy but when he enters combat he will without a doubt defend any blow and retaliate with force.

Draco Malfoy: Sorted into Slytherine Squad but not an active fighter. Draco honestly didn't care about who won any war or found whatever stones he simply lauded his position and often stayed Castleside during combat missions. Eventually however he lost the respect of the people around him who had him pegged as an ace pilot. Attempting to prove them wrong he challenged Longbottom to a duel using Gespenst and wound up losing horribly to who he thought would be an easy opponent. That was all the motivation he needed to get himself transffered into active duty. Given control of a Giganspada he ignored orders and charged recklessly into battle despite being in an obvious bombardment unit, this eventually lead to the destruction of his Spada and being removed from active duty again, however the opposing force sent him an invitation where he would be able to truly let loose and he abandoned ship to enemy.

Gifted with a Grungust he was told to take vengeance on his old comrades, but once he launched into battle he turned on the enemy ship and blasted it from the sky. Since the Grungust had been coded to him he was left its official pilot though he had to work hard to regain everyone’s confidence in him.

Severus Snape: The captain of the Hog Battle (though he loathes to call it by name) he is harsh to his troops, cold to his bridge personnel and has no regard for the ideas from the Civilian side. However he does give Harry the Excellence and Neville the Giganscudo leading many to believe he simply acts tough to make sure the ship doesn't fall into chaos.

Snape was one of the first people to take to the skies in a Magitek mecha, but chose to remain captain rather than on active duty when the mecha slowly stopped responding to him. Regardless if at any time it looks like the battle is too much for the troops he launches in his Astranagant to fight the enemy. However he can only fight for 10 minutes and he's under incredible pain every time he goes out. It certainly helps earn him the respect of even those who disagree with his policies.

[up]So Snape = Natarle + Ingram + D-Boy?
