My take? If that's what they like, then that's what they like.
I'm personally into both 2D and 3D girls, so even though I think some take it too far, as long as they're not harming anybody, we don't reserve the right to past judgment.
I mean, will there be anyone who casts judgment on those who are only attracted to 3D men/women? I don't think so.

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.I... doubt that.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.
So, this statement is arguing that it's okay to be attracted to only 2D people, because people don't judge people who are attracted to only 3D people.
Basically, what you are saying is being attracted to 2D people and 3D people is the same thing.
I don't think any of them is bad, but if you think they are the same, you need another perspective.

Way I see it, an ideal relationship should involve someone you can hug and kiss, who will hug and kiss you back, someone you can have a real conversation with, someone you can talk to when you need advice or consoling or emotional support, someone you can go on dates with, play with, someone you can grow old with, someone you can buy birthday presents, for someone you can love who will love you back. You can't get this with fictional girls. They can't offer a shoulder to cry on if you need one, they can't give you a hug, they can't engage in actual conversation. A relationship with a "2D" girl just isn't a real one to me. I want to do all these things with a person, not a Nintendo DS game displaying an anime girl or a pillow or a doll. A living, breathing human being.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Indeed relationship means nothing without reciprocation, yes.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Wow this is nostalgic. It's already been 2 years since my last post here
Well, as I understand the thread title, this is not about people who want actual relationships with pixels but just prefer pixels as outlets of lust
If I recall, someone with a (supposedly) psychology degree gave his 2 cents on the subject here in this thread
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareWhen you take it to a degree that you think you're in an actual relationship with them, then yeah, that is a problem.
Just as much as it would be if someone thought the same of a real life celebrity, stalker with a crush style.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.Except with real life celebrities, you can get into actual, tangible relationship with them (this does not refer to just romantic ones), even though chances are not great.

A brighter future for a darker age.
I kind of agree in a way, because the children characters are what I grew up with and it makes me feel weird reading that stuff. I mean, I used to have a crush on characters myself, but I got over it.
