Yep, here. It seems to be down for the moment, but you can look the cache. It's a pretty good wiki for Animal Crossing in general.

Own both City Folk and New Leaf. Like both, but prefer New Leaf.

Progress-wise, I'm much farther on City Folk. I woke up this morning and discovered the Nookway has already been upgraded to Nookingtons. I was so happy I nearly cried.

Also, apparently an HRA score of 9,415 points was enough for a model room. Weird.

I don’t even know anymore.

Figured I necro this thread because it felt better for this than the New Leaf thread.

Nintendo released a video celebrating today's 15th anniversary of the N64 release of the original Animal Forest.

Enjoy. :)

Necroing this thread again as we have a Nintendo Direct on the mobile title coming tonight.

Any guesses as to what kind of game it's going to be like?

I've always assumed it'd be Nintendo's take on the town builder genre, but those games usually lack gameplay outside of "pick a building and wait" so knowing Nintendo there's gotta be more to it than just that. Assuming, of course, it has its own identity instead of just being a mobile phone adaption of what the series usually is.

Maybe a pro fishing simulator?

Tom Nook Simulator, with actual money replacing bells.

So for the gacha, should it be furniture, villagers, or both?

Maybe it'll be Puzzle Quest or Desert Island Escape.

I feel like it's going to be more about the villagers and giving you daily tasks, so it's basically like a lite version of the series, but without stuff like town building and whatnot. I was annoyed with how much it got delayed, but I'm glad to see that there's finally something going on.

i just hope that my baby olaf will be in the animal crossing app

Double post:

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Late November simultaneous for Android and iOS.

Looks like a lighter version of New Leaf, but with a camping motif.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is coming next month. Its basically a combination of the mainline games and Happy Home Designer but streamlined and for phones. There are microtransactions but the good thing is that they're optional as they're to buy ingame currency to speed things up if you don't want to play normally as said ingame currency can be gotten just by playing the game.

Giving an outdoor campsite setting to a game mostly based around collecting/crafting furniture is a little odd. An outdoor TV... Totally normal.

I'll be damned if I don't love crafting shit in games, though.

Pocket Camp looks adorable. Vey high quality too both visually and gameplay. Lots of things to do, yet it doesn't really replace the mainline series. Though AC Switch is going to have to seriously impress to get people to buy it after this. I can't speak to how people will like it since I'm not a huge fan myself, nor can I say how much money it will make, but on first impression I'd say Nintendo has a hit on their hands.

Omigosh this sounds like a really adorable game. It's kind of like Happy Home Designer, but with a camping theme to it. Not that it bothers me though, because it seems different enough to be its own thing.

I don't want to wait until November, though. If there's an Animal Crossing game coming out, I just want for it to come right away. Again, all of those delays were annoying, but it seems like the waiting has paid off because there's a lot of content into it.

Biggest missed opportunity was no Choose Your Villager Vote. Most popular villager gets special costumes.

Stole this from r/AnimalCrossing.

You have to wait about 3 hours to get anywhere.

That's... unfortunate, but since a phone's more easily accessed than a console I feel like it'll wind up a minor annoyance more than a major hamper.

Though I'm baffled if the idea is you wait three hours to get somewhere instead of waiting three to go back to somewhere. And material collection seems really limited as-is, which is my biggest concern so far (the game seems to lack the series' traditional catalog feature in lieu of crafting.)

Still looking forward to it! I just hope that there's enough to get the ball rolling without being inveigled into buying Leaf Tickets.

The main games have wait timers to some extent right? I guess this is the mobile equivalent of the idea, with some microtransactions on the side.

Much longer ones, too. Barring RNG and friends visiting with their own stuff you need to wait 24 hours for new clothes, furniture, or even tools to spawn in stores.

So Animal Crossing is a perfect fit for mobile. tongue

Nintendo's mobile stuff hasn't been terrible with this, so it's worth being optimistic.

It's out in Australia for a soft launch/testing. Hearing good things, and haven't heard of any ridiculous 3 hour travel times.

Released in Australia just like Plants vs Zombies 2 eh. Looks like it's time to dust off the aussie iTunes account I made to download that...

Those amenities have ridiculous building times.

The furniture very less so.
