I'd forgotten how to use the Intermediate Value Theorem. (facepalm)
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.@Fuzy I'm talking about the fact that I have no idea what Sabre and DC are talking about.
Although I may be stupid for other reasons that I won't get into right now...

And you're not stupid.
Here, have a song, from me to you;
This song is very personal for me.
I sure hope so, too, lil bro. And why's it personal?

You can not go to Utah again after you have eaten Utah and have not eaten.Ok ._.*did not understand the explanation* Can you people try to explain it to me? If I just copy down what you wrote, it won't teach me anything xD
: Square root of -1 is i, an imaginary number.
Basically, since polynomials are continuous functions, if you know that the function takes on a positive value at one point and a negative value at a second point, there's a point in between where it takes the value 0.

I'm with Fuzy on this.
Ah.

You can not go to Utah again after you have eaten Utah and have not eaten.
...Besides, if I put the exercise in chalkboard, I get two "points" instead of one, and I desperately need more of them considering I'm bad at this Its kinda bad if I can't explain it xD(and I think if I could understand it, I might be able to do more of them before class starts...)
Oh, wrote answer little wrong "Funktio f(x) = x^3 - x^2 - x + a on jatkuva välillä [0, 1] ja arvot f(+) ja f(1) ovat erimerkkiset" Wrote accidentally "om" in one place, but I think you guys probably noticed it already xD

I used to be Christian, but over time I started questioning my faith.
I stopped praying every night, stopped going to church, stopped going to Christian Youth Group, stopped believing.
Then, I went to Private School in the Ninth Grade. I started to question my newfound atheism. That song perfectly describes how I felt then, especially since I was under a hardcore depression at the time.
It certainly helps I found that exact album that song is on during the said depression.
-huggles lil bro-
AC:NL Dream Address: 5200-2582-5967I just realised how small my hands are, comparatively speaking: 170mm.
The averages are 189mm for men, and 172mm for women.
Whee, random thoughts.
'twas brillig.Oh fricking dang it, I don't get it x-x;(tried to think about what you wrote, but still don't get it, f(1) x^3 - x^2 - x root is 1? Wouldn't it be 1 - 1 - 1 = -1? x-x;)
I guess I get zero done again.... See ya people later...*sigh* I'm stupid...
Speaking of random thoughts, it's been about three days...
Still hope it gets worked out soon...
-huggles everyone-
No you're not! Also, see ya.

AC:NL Dream Address: 5200-2582-5967Let us consider the bivariate function g(x,a)
f(x) = g(x,0) = x^3 - x^2 - x. This has a solution at x = 0 (0 - 0 - 0)
h(x) = g(x,1) = x^3 - x^2 - x + 1. This has a solution at x = 1 (1 - 1 - 1 + 1 = 0).
Let us consider any other value of a between 0 and 1.
In that case, f(0,a) = a and f(1,a) = -1 + a.
f(0,a) is positive, and f(1,a) is negative. Therefore, there is a point 0 < x < 1, such that for any a between 0 and 1, f(x,a) = 0.
And this is what I get for spending 5 minutes trying to type up a solution. The person I'm writing for it leaves and no one can make sense of it in the first place.
I am going to suck as a calculus teacher, aren't I? -pouts-

I should probably do that sleep thing I've heard so much about. Night all.
'twas brillig.Got that, DC. Nice work on the explanation, I don't think I could've handled it.
