I like the clever wit the show has. And yeah, the economic bits are interesting, though I usually require rewatching a scene to understand what was said.
#IceBearForPresidentIt felt dry, bland. Like, not enough action happened. I don't know, I just didn't like it.
My other signature is a Gundam.- Its a slice of life show. Not an action series.
FU Nimation also started airing it on their linear channel.
It's basically a lot of talking, with some action scenes here and there. A common phrase fans use in regard to this show is "I watch it for the economics."
Thanks for reminding me of the times Holo was a bitch - e.g. screwing over the merchant because of the Apples that were on the furs. Also her shitty sarcasm. But her getting all dere-dere helps to balance it out >_<
Kind've like the fangirls who claim they watch Hetalia for the history/politics & not shlicking it to Germany fucking Italy in the ass xD

WHASSUP....... ....with lolis!Cum for the naked wolf girl and stay for the economics.
I personally loved all the character interaction. It was just really entertaining and totally believable. Holo quickly captured my heart as one of my top ten favourite anime characters.
And I do have to admit that I am in the same camp of people that initially became interested in the anime because of Holo. She was really adorable and I wanted to know what her deal was.
ShineI watched it not knowing what the hell it was, and I didn't care much for Holo (or Horo as they called it in the dub). I liked the economics.
You got them swapped. The dub and novels call her Holo.
I came for the epic opening (it promised so much!) and stayed for the character interaction and witty dialog.
I came and stayed for Holo. Well, she's just that entertaining.
I love the character interaction in this series.
^ Exactly. Lawrence is just so overmatched...but it's precisely that which makes it all work.
I have to say that I got onto the show because Netflix only carried the second season. I was already curious about anime in general (I had only watched about 2 seasons of a series and a few scattered pilots) and so I found it online. Personally I found the dub to be quite enjoyable. I never debated whether or not to continue watching it after the first episode. I had read the description and found it to interesting;however, the playful liveliness between Lawrence and Holo drew me in. I can happily say that it is still one of my personal favourites.
As for the economics, the show is very heavily reliant upon that as a premise. It's something you have to like in order to enjoy the show. Nonetheless I was confused on certain matters. I was initially confused during the final episode of the Amati Arc. My thoughts are that you have to go into it with an open mind and pay attention when Lawrence discusses his trade.
Friends are just mutual stalkers. Think about it.This thread is the more active discussion.
They started showing the Funimation dubs on Comcast now & on YT, but I planned on watching this series for a while. What do y'all think about it? Personally I like the economic infodumps, only problem is that a lot of that stuff seems to be mainly focused on medieval economics - understandably given the series' premise.
Also it's scary to see how my g/f acts like Holo in some ways - e.g. acting like she's "all that" then going all shy & whatnot. I know I'm probably exxagerating as it's something I just noticed but haha oh wow.
