Squirtle's recovery is surprisingly powerful to KO fighters.
I thought in the interest in the subweapons in their B moves that they would use the dagger for Simon and Richter's Up B.
-Witty line-I'm actually surprised with Pokemon trainer that they didn't have alternate that fights with a later generation of starters
New theme music also a boxThe problem with that is that none of the later-generation Fire-type starters have Charizard's wings, and so wouldn't have a justification for having an extra double jump.
In fact, a lot of Charizard's properties couldn't really be replicated one-to-one by the others, like attacks that involve his claws or tail.

Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805That wouldn't really work. There aren't any other sets of starters that could overlay onto the current models.
Squirtle would probably be the easiest one, I could see Piplup or Oshawott working in its place if not for the Side B, which is kind of essential to it being a turtle.
The closest replacement for Ivysaur is Grotle, and while the bushes might be able to replicate the pollen bursts and Bullet Seed, it really wouldn't work with its moves that use the leaves as blades (ignoring that Grotle canonically doesn't have vines).
Charizard would be, by FAR, the hardest one to replace. Right off the bat, no other Fire starter has wings, making this whole idea moot. Charizard also has a dumpy dragon body frame that no other starter shares. In fact, the only Pokemon I can think of that would be able to actually stand-in for Charizard is Flygon.

I didn't suggest flat out making an echo fighter, they can just make new models for the pokemon
New theme music also a boxI’m confused.
You the responses clearly spelled out WHY making new models for the Pokémon doesn’t work. And I’m not sure how making new models doesn’t equal making an echo fighter.
The idea being they make new models that don't share their animations with existing pokemon trainer's mons,if that makes any sense
New theme music also a boxthat would essentially be redesigning the character from scratch.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."But at that point, they stop being Echos, and become full fledged Original Characters, especially since unique models like that would require unique skeletons.
What you're describing is WAY more work than Echo Fighters, which themselves are significantly more work than alternate costumes, and yet you're proposing this idea as an alternate costume. Do you see the issue here? Pokemon Trainer is already the most content-heavy character in the game by virtue of being a 3-in-1, and you're suggesting they put even more work in?

Better to just rename PT as Red/Leaf and create a new set for another region.
Wake me up at your own risk.Leaf is dead. According to Let's Go, her name is Green.
So apparently, Peach and Daisy aren't completely identical: their turnips are slightly different.
Now if we can only find something more significant for the Belmonts other than 'Simon hates Red Pikmin specifically'

Like why
They're mostly not supposed to be anything but a cosmetic choice, why wouldn't they?
Because clones in the past still had noticable differences? Even Lucina and Dark Pit had enough to make them more than just glorified alts.
They still do. Lucina's flat out better than Marth since the bonus he gets from his tipper isn't worth the spacing you need to get the most out of it compared to her consistent damage and knockback.
Remember to press F to Alph.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.I'm still surprised they didn't echo Alph. Would it actually be more work than anticipated concerning the Pikmin?
He doesn't even get his own unique render position, just copies Olimar. Even the Koopalings get that.
-Witty line-Yeah, I'm surprised Alph didn't just diverge into an Echo.
Maybe his one and only difference from Olimar could be Rock Pikmin instead of Purple Pikmin.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!nerf meta knight
New theme music also a boxI swear, sometimes it feels like Metaknight's sword hitbox just vanishes when I use a Smash attacks.
-Witty line-x3: Alph's Final Smash would surely also need to be altered to use the S.S. Drake instead of the Hocotate Ship. Maybe change one of his taunts to have him whip out the KopPad for a moment and tap on it a couple of times, too.

I'm pretty sure using Up-B as Ivysaur actually allows you to switch to Charizard if you've already used your one aerial switch?
I'm not playing the game this second so I can't confirm, but I remember hearing that before...
And even if you can't, Squirtle and Charizard have better recoveries, and you should frankly switch to one of them if you know Vine Whip isn't gonna cut it.
