How many songs are there?

876. The game doesn't notify you when you've got them all, though.

Ok good. I was concerned because that’s the number I saw and I hit it and nothing happened.

I've heard that it's a bug due to one of the songs being completely unavailable, so the game doesn't ever recognize that you have them all because, to the game, you don't.

Hadn’t heard that. Is there any word on what song it is?

It's "Ground Theme - Super Mario Bros 3"

Not the Melee or Ultimate Remixes, it's the original. Datamining has found that it's definitely in the game, but there isn't any way to obtain it.

There's also no milestone achievement or notifications that you unlocked all the songs in the game's data anyway, so the point is a bit moot.

It plays as part of the Super Mario Maker style switch song, but unlike the other three ground themes it's not available as an individual track for some reason.

@BadAolf: I just enjoy imagining stuff that could have been for games like Smash Bros, because it's the kind of game that lends itself to it. Don't get me wrong; I'm quite satisfied with what we've got thus far. Just let me fantasise, okay?

@32_Footsteps: Ah, but what of the Spirit you receive from a boss encounter in World of Light? Not every stage hazard got a Spirit, but every boss did.

Could we expect some Joker gameplay and stage reveal?

“Gameplay” as in a trailer, I would say probably yes. I wouldn’t expect anything in-depth though. It’s only 35 minutes and Smash dominated their messaging in 2018, so I’m sure they’re ready to talk about other games.

We already got a non-gameplay trailer, so I could see us getting a short gameplay trailer. Nothing complete and fully comprehensive, but enough to let us know roughly how he plays.

Well yeah, most Smash trailers include some gameplay. Joker’s announcement not featuring any at all is unique.

Like, Piranha Plant’s trailer was done completely in-game, and the cinematic part of Ken/Incineroar was pretty short compared to the gameplay.

@BadWolf: You're deliberately putting words into my mouth. I just said "We're getting more" - I never made any assumptions about getting more bosses (hopes, yes; assumptions, no). And seriously, the only one complaining here is you (ironically, about complaining that isn't even happening). If you're not going to argue in good faith, don't bother.

Re: Tomorrow's Direct: Eh, I'm going to predict that it's going to be similar to the Sept. 13th Direct that revealed Isabelle - a little about Smash (probably the Joker gameplay trailer, but maybe the next reveal instead), but no more than 5 minutes at most. Which is fine; I'm honestly most hoping for more on Daemon Ex Machina (but that's for another thread).

I think Zero-Suit Dark Samus would make a better skeleton character.

Odds are they will show Joker's official trailer, similar to Mewtwo where the last Smash event showed Mewtwo's image and the next direct just had his character trailer.

I still doubt Joker will be the only thing they talk about. The only other big games to talk about coming out this year are FE, Bayo 3 and Animal Crossing. Pokemon will have its own direct, of course.

Yoshi’s Crafted World comes out in March, and signs look good for Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch. Account for some digital-exclusives and DLC for other games and you’ve filled 35 minutes pretty easily.

Maybe another token Wii U port, Pikmin 3 or Mario 3D World or The Wonderful 101 or something.

They can't port 3DWorld, without changing the game.
