Marx is from a Sakurai Kirby game but his resurgence was a bit late to factor into Smash. Perhaps he could have a DLC chance instead.
Bandana Dee has been a big request since before Smash 4. I bet now is the momente BD gets his chance to be a fighter.
And hey, we don't have a spear fighter yet.
Uni catI think Magolor is pretty popular in Japan, too.
Bandana Dee is my top pick for fourth Kirby rep.
Followed by Adeleine, but her recent relevancy is too recent for Smash. Maybe next time, if she remains present in future Kirby games.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Okay, at this point I've got to ask. Why do so many people want Golden Sun? Is it really that great a series, or is it just a Cult Classic that a lot of people have fond memories for, or what?
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundPeople were a little confused as to why Isaac was suddenly gone from the AT selection in Smash 4, meaning that he could have been Promoted to Playable.
Truth is, he was just gone. At the height of his popularity (Brawl to 4) his franchise was still alive. Then it kind of flopped with the last game and now Isaac is in a weird limbo of sorts.
He is kinda like K. Rool in a sense. But unfortunately, Isaac doesn't belong to a big series like Donkey Kong so his inclusion as a fighter is slim if you ask me.
However, his AT could return.
Uni catThe games themselves are also genuinely great. The class system is super in-depth and allows you to give different party roles to almost any character you want. The story is extremely subversive of the standard "save the world" formula and asks some interesting questions about human nature. The characters are also really well-written and fantastically designed. The villains are also great. Golden Sun is just a really great series of games.
The most notable downsides are that the combat is fairly standard for the genre, some characters don't get much development, and the third game is way too easy.
For me personally, Golden Sun has a lot of potential that needs to be drawn out. My biggest disappointment with Dark Dawn wasn't that the game was especially bad (at worst, it can be described as subpar or droll), but that it barely tried to do anything to build off of the GBA games, which didn't age tremendously well themselves. Basically, I'm hoping for Isaac or Felix or even Matthew partly so that Golden Sun finds the same kind exposure that brought about Fire Emblem's revival.
Of course, independent of that, I do think Golden Sun's flashy visual design would lend itself well to making an entertaining Smash Bros. character. Isaac (or Felix or Matthew; they're basically interchangeable) has such a wide assortment of spells and artifacts at his disposal, all of which have very well-defined animations that would translate well into a 2D brawler. Admittedly, they lend themselves more to a tanky, zoney playstyle, so if Isaac was properly represented I might not even main him, but it would be nice to have that in the game at all.
I don't know if it's frowned upon to post movesets here, but I went up and dug out an old Isaac moveset that can show you what I mean.
Cult classic, mostly. Personally it’s not one of my favorite series, but I still liked the games, and I know a lot of people remember them fondly. They’re really fun, and the story was pretty good. Also there’s a lot of moveset potential there.
I’d love to see Isaac or someone get in, but I don’t expect it. I did expect it in the last game, but since that didn’t happen (and they took out the assist trophy, even!), I don’t think it’s much more likely this time. I hate to admit it, but it’s been about as long since Dark Dawn came out as it was between that game and Lost Age, and I don’t expect the series to even continue at this point, let alone be represented in Smash. It’s not outright pipe dream territory, but it’s still unlikely.
I liked Dark Dawn for the most part, but ending it with a cliffhanger without being sure they’d be able to follow up on it was a bad, bad idea. Lost Age had a sequel hook, sure, but it wasn’t anywhere near as glaring as what we’re stuck with now. I’m still pissed about that.

They might not use anyone from Golden Sun right away since the lead character designer died recently, most likely out of respect.
Watch SymphogearI've wondered if Isaac was planned for 4 at some point early in development (hence why his AT was gone despite being a popular choice) but was cut.
This song needs more love.Well, Bomberman's designer died as well yet Bomberman got in as an AT.

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I figured that if Isaac does get in, he would have his Dark Dawn design as his default, with his original design as an Alt.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. If the answer is yes, we’ll probably get him this time. If not, I don’t think we ever will.
I’d expect it the other way around, if anything. He doesn’t do much in Dark Dawn.

I don't think Isaac is getting in, but I'm rooting for Geno so, you know, go nuts.
More Dark Dawn music in Smash please it was the game's one legitimately great aspect
there were so many good overworld themes in that game

I'm still holding out a slim hope for Banjo & Kazooie, even though absolutely nothing other than the fact that they're going out of their way to do non-Waluigi major fan requested characters suggests that its gonna happen. x3
Dark Dawn Isaac would be an odd pick, since he's like 46 years old (though he looks 30) and he's just around for the tutorial. Definitely wouldn't be able to have OG Isaac as a costume, since Dark Dawn Isaac is much taller and buffer.
My personal theory: The Isaac AT was cut just in case there would be enough demand to make him DLC, but there wasn't enough demand and so it was cut for nothing.
And what if he comes back here this time?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. And what if he doesn't? Which is probably more likely.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundTo all of you saying that Isaac won't be in his Dark Dawn design if he does make it in; But...but...how else will Social Media Websites clamor over how much of a hunk he is?
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. They can clamor over Echo Fighter Felix, he's the cool edgy one.
... Now that I think about it, it's really crazy Simon Belmont is the eighth Guest Fighter the series has received. Back when we where all playing melee, he was widely expected to be the first.
Bleye knows Sabers.People said the same about King K. Rool and look how turned out. Smash Ultimate would be the game of fans dreams and as such, anything with gameplay potential can be possible.

Also, I dunno if it'd be possible given how recently the game came out, but Void Termina as a boss would be freaking awesome.
Edit: cleaned up word choice a bit x3
