Yeah, I was gonna try that tonight, just on all of the mods I have on the new launchers.

Can't really judge the ones that have you start on Ringworlds/Habitats.

The latter looks fun though.

Could be a challenge to, as Habitats aren't as generalist (when it comes to resource production) as planets are.

Nor are they cheap.

I'm interested in most of them, though. Lots of different ways a game could go depending on what you get from each. You can build tall with the Ringworld one, have way more people with the Spaceborne one, stuff like that.

I have kinda hard time seeing them as underwhelming when one of them is straight up "you colonize planets by throwing meteors at them" tongue

The primary allure for Origins for me is simply future-proofing. It's a great system that can be massively built up, modded upon etc.

How will Void Dwellers even produce food in the early game? Will they finally add agriculture districts to Habitats?

It'd be a good way to make the Geth at least. You can make a machine race that destroyed its homeworld while warring with its creators and after they "won" they retreated to space.

Got a question for y'all. I was running a big empire, and upon succession a bunch of people blackmailed my new weak emperor into giving them independence. Now I'm on a peaceful revassalization kick, but a lot of those folks I'm not even being given the option to offer vassalization to. I know it's not culture because gifts were enough to get two people of different cultures to come back into the fold, so any ideas why I don't even get the grayed out option? I could understand them not liking me, except the ones I've looked into are all happy with me anyway.

It might be because there’s a truce or something, but I’m not sure.

https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Diplomatic_actions#Offer_vassalization has the conditions.

If you're dealing with people of other cultures outside the de jure borders, you're gonna have to apply a little pressure.

They're within my Empire's borders and are my religion. It's not a matter of them not accepting, the option to offer it simply doesn't exist. The UI doesn't have it listed at all. The strongest of them are a couple of Dukes, and I'm still Emperor, so it's not a rank thing. And there's no truce on my end, at least. I checked by looking into war declarations and there was no notice of me taking a relations hit with my loyalists. I've vassalized a couple people, but I'm pretty sure one of them was a vassal to one of the rebels and I'm not sure what the other was. It might be a truce thing on their end blocking me.

Are they newly-sworn to anyone else?

No, I've checked. They're all independent.

Of course, that successor quickly died and now some others separated from the Empire. Which is odd to say the least. I can understand them asking for independence, but the succession just kicked them out despite being de jure part of the Empire. Should that really happen?

It depends. Do you have Gavelkind succession?

Yup. But still, if I'm De Jure in charge of everything (I am, I've checked) then that really shouldn't be an issue. It probably is an issue and not considered a bug, but it still feels utterly wrong that people can just nope out of the Empire that they are lawfully part of just because the previous Emperor died. At least make them confront the fact that they are illegally seceding from the Empire by making them do it through the Faction system.

Y'know, playing CK 2 and I'm just going through the years holding a feast, holding a summer fair, on repeat, and I've watched hours of tutorials and whatnot on how to play the game and I don't know if it's not for me or I just don't know how to play the game. I have no idea how to use marriages to get control of more provinces - I assume there must be more to it than spam "fabricate claim" -> go to war until you can claim the duchy/kingdom/empire.

There are only two origins I'm interested in - doomed homeworld and voidborn

Also kinda sucks you can't be a mechanist combined with something else

^^I can say this much: I have exactly once in older versions succeeded in inheriting entire kingdom through marriage and inheritance(and probably murder) and it felt really good to figure it out for once xD

I think I just have to go back to noob island. I should have known picking a Welsh dynasty would be a hard start.

I’m interested in all the different origins, but Imd still like all of my Stellaris mods to be usable before then.

I don't bother with marrying for inheritance. These days it's all about starting everyone on an even playing field, with half the rulers being female. Marry matrilineally for the alliance, let her keep the kids. Take three concubines for my own line, and work my way into warring for the Empire title. Then use raids and ransom to pay for improvements and build up what's mine while strengthening the religion.

My ultimate goal is less about holding the world and more about converting it to the one true faith.
