So since I need to save money on not buying all the expansion, I just decided to wait until they had idea tree for Finland tongue Since I'm really only well aware of my home country's history during this time period [lol]

I'm kinda wondering how long that will actually take though since they seem to like adding stuff for countries faraway from conflict (for gameplay reasons I assume)

Well, the new HOI 4 update's pretty interesting. The "choose which country does what path" option is probably the most interesting to me right now, as it allows me to set up an alternate World War, or perhaps two smaller ones.

As for me, I started out as America, and pushed for full desegregation asap. Turns out, the second American Civil War isn't as difficult if the nations of the world don't actually back up the rebels with more than token volunteer forces.

What a strapping, clean-shaven American patriot. Surely nothing can go wrong by putting him in charge of the country.

[up] It's the CSA, so "patriot" is not the word I would use. More the opposite, really.

If he had a mustache I might think he was some one else! What a great thing that such a patriotic man has no mustache.

Huh, they really put Charles Lindburgh in. I remember them saying that there was no plans to before launch, back when the America stuff was first revealed.

And I wonder if the Argentine Easter egg works in conjunction with this one? Or did that require the non-GCW path to happen?

[up]

After the monarchists win there's a 0.5% chance that either the US or Argentina gets a new leader option. So it's pretty much up to chance.

It used to be guaranteed for Argentina in case of a monarchist victory in the German civil war.

Also somebody made a portrait mod for the fascist leader of East Germany. [lol]

Jake Richter is DDRJake, a Paradox employee and best known for making the Ryukyu world conquest an actual thing. Meanwhile East Germany's official name in German is Deutsche Demokratische Republik, short DDR.

Nah, only the CSA and Argentina. And it's a relatively low chance.

First Mexico run in MTG. The political system takes a little thinking to manage, and there's six possible revolutions (two for each ideology) - not bad. The big questions (aside from C/D/F) are "what do you do about the Church?" and "what do you do about the caudillos?" The latter isn't directly tied to the revolutions, but it's still an important question to be decided quickly. Secular democracy (or "ha ha, did you actually believe me?" Catholic politics) or cleverly-managed Goldshirts allow you to avoid a civil war.

Also, if Mexico decides to side with a faction instead of making a new one, which faction they join is essentially independent of their ideology, which I thought was a nice touch.

Bought MTG just now, unfortunately have to wait until tonight to actually get it to update the game. I think I may go for an Imperial German Resurgence run.

Just hit the Age of Absolutism (not that it means much to me because my absolutism caps at 30 because fuck republics, apparently), and the Falklands are starting to get a bit crowded. Due to aggressively conquering all of the natives, including the High American empires, plus running over the colony soft cap, I'm far ahead in the colonial game. Lusitania is my main colonial rival, but I gave them a huge setback when they decided to intrude on one of my colonies' regions and I used the colonialism CB to steal all of their colonies and shut down their colonial nations. The big downside is that now I need to convert a lot of Lusitanian Catholics or be on the watch for rebels because otherwise the Fumi-e event will keep spawning Catholic zealots. At some point, I'll probably have a falling out with my allies, Gaeldom, for similar reasons, but for now, they're not really a threat and their colonies can't actually steer trade to the North Sea or English Channel, while I can steer every last ducat to Nippon or The Moluccas.

How did you get High American nations in a regular game? (I assume you mean EU 4).

Random New World and make sure fantasy scenarios are, at least, not disabled (I have them set to frequent).

My RNW is the Falklands except huge (like, bigger than North America) plus the workshop "North Edge" tile (ironically, in the south) there are like 20 colonial regions, including two that are kinda bugged out patchworks of vanilla regions, which I used the grant province interaction to make into two coherent colonial nations. I got the Chinese republic, Lemuria, Burning Empire, Crimson Empire, Lost Balkans, and Vinland.

Well, played my first game of Vanilla in a while. Started with overthrowing the Nazis in a Civil War...but the Dutch refused to allow Wilhelm II to come back...and then there was a big war between the "Pact of Rome" (which sounds new) and the Allies that was all confusing...I kinda lost track of everything happening with the civil war, cuz that shit was brutal.

Nah, Pact of Rome dates to release. It's Italy's non-Axis route.

Aren't those the same route?

I think Pact of Rome might be specifically Romania related or something.

Pact of Rome is formed by Hungary, the other one by Italy.

Finally continued my four-player EU4 coop campaign (players started as Friesland, Scotland, Castile and Bohemia).

Both Scotland and I finally managed to form our respective tags - I forwent adopting Dutch Republic to keep my merchant republic government build - I'm not going to expand any further into Europe anyway (apart from Bohemia selling me two provinces), so what's the point? I might establish some more vassals at some point and help Brunswick regain their cores.

Otherwise I'll stick to colonisation.

Meanwhile we're currently involved in a league war - Bohemia wants to become Protestant, but also keep the emperorship, so we're aiming at the Peace of Westphalia - which means beating up everyone else and making a white peace with the leader of the Protestant League. Despite being Protestant, I sided with him - I wanted to keep my electoral privileges after all.

France was actually originally involved in the war, but as soon as the Dutch army marched towards Paris, their troops turned around and went south to beat up the Castilians instead. While the Bohemians were dealing with the Ottomans in the east, I slowly made my way south to link up with the Castilian army. In the end we didn't get that much from Frane - I took Artois and Picardie, while Castile took Labour dand a colony in South Africa. The latter will be sold to me after the league war ends.

Great Britain's been sitting out this war, as they still had a truce with France - he'll start his own separate war as soon as that runs out.
