Episode 21 of the Webtoon is out.
We're presumably getting a flashback to The Last Hope, the Egrets are heading back to the Labs, and the Medici's plan to kidnap Minette is starting.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniEpisode 22 is out, and it has a lot of moving pieces
Lorenzo moves what forces that remains to enact his plan on the fish people, Vitale goes to enact Filia's orgin story, King Franz reveals himself to the world he is very not dead, and Peacock is going rogue, which will leave lab 8 open for the sneak attack by val and double
Our resident Catgirl is able to put herself together witht he help of a small dog, Valentine and Brain Drain have a face to face, and Parasoul and the gang are en route to Lab 8
A bit late posting these, but Episodes 24 and 25 of the Webtoon came out.
In 24, Nadia tests her powers before Riccardo and Lawrence enter Yu Wan's restaurant. She doesn't seem to be acquainted with Minette in this continuity. Later, we get a retelling of Filia's origin, where Vitale and Ottomo kill half of her family each, at least until Samson will bond with Filia.
In 25, Nadia beats the goons up and heads off to find the Skullgirl. Meanwhile, Parasoul and Big Band discuss Lab Zero, with Ben repeatedly warning her against seeking them out.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniI was going to ask what year is it in response to hearing about TF2 crossover content, but technically it's only content that is voiced by an actor from TF2 and not directly named as TF2 crossover content.
I still wouldn't be opposed to that Leviathan hat that was pushed onto the workshop.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniIf anyone wants to hear the new lines.
Since it's been several weeks and nobody else posted them, the Season 1 finale of the Webtoon dropped at the start of the month.
Filia becomes Samson's new host, the Egrets see Lab 8 getting attacked from a distance, and Dr. Avian leaves Peacock with a final message before dying.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses." - Flower Knight DakiniI had been busy moving so i hadnt had time to look into it. My apologies.
Really enjoyed the comic, really helped flesh out Skullgirls's world and characters for me.
Also shoutouts to Minette crushing on Ms. Fortune.

Well this is a bit of a surprise! Taking a small page out of MK 1's book, SGM is introducing a new concept: Guest Stars! They will be assists that can do special actions or attacks to add a bit more spice to gameplay while also being both a popularity gauge and a bridge should they decide to bring them over in full to 2E! Which means, any Guest Star is a potential Full Character for later!
the full roadmap for both 2nd Encore and SGM can be read here!

Cool. Wonder if they'll have exclusive attacks to their assist forms if they become full fighters.

Marie is now available.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! This was a pretty fun and heartwarming way to cap off the season pass.
Story summary incoming.
In-between matches are flashbacks to Marie and Patricia's time at Hilgard's mansion. It helps reinforce their friendship and bridge the gap between the start of the story. Apparently the Skull Heart was repressing these memories.
It properly begins with Peacock, Squigly, and Filia facing Marie. After getting their asses handed to them, Samson restrains Marie at a critical moment and Avery and Leviathan perform space-time surgery to try and remove the Skull Heart from her body. The Heart ultimately rejects the attempt and shatters into Theonite.
Later, Marie wakes up alongside Peacock, having ended up in Gehenna and gotten separated from the others. Peacock has trouble just sending them home, and Valentine finds them and fights them while saying that her mission to kill Marie is still on before retreating. After an inopportune flashback, Double separates the two and tries to trick Marie into losing control by making it look like Black Dahlia assassinated Patricia and urging her to kill the Medicis. She sees through this and reunites with Peacock.
Finally finding an exit, Marie and Peacock end up in No Man's Land. Apparently, Gehenna connects to potentially the entire world. Peacock also brings up how Avery is in charge of space-time stuff/math, along with knives, because according to her 'if space-time is a fabric, you could just cut it with a knife'. The Egrets show up, and get beaten up, Marie is still confused by the skeletons still being under her control.
Having made their way back to Hilgard's mansion, the two fight over Marie's desire to die to prevent any suffering. Peacock makes her realize that she does want to keep living. Then Double shows up yet again and fights them. Angry that the minions keep listening to Marie, Double demands to know why they won't obey the Trinity. Marie says that they're sick of listening to them, only to start clutching her head. Double notes that she's losing control to the Skullgirl's power. Peacock angrily asks what the purpose of the Heart is if it doesn't really grant peoples wishes. Double explains that it's part of the Trinity's plan to remind humanity that they will only suffer without their rule. The true purpose of the Heart is to remove the wisher's free will and make them a puppet of the Trinity so they can decide what to do for humanity, namely by killing them to end their suffering.
Marie has a Battle in the Center of the Mind with The Trinity speaking through a copy of her Skullgirl form. They reveal that they truly resent humanity, waiting for eons for the opportunity to be freed from their prison. Marie was supposed to be the final step in their plan, but she resisted, and they hate her slightly more than the normal person for that. Marie prevails. Hilgard's spirit appears to give a peptalk, along with the minions who are also sick of the Trinity's crap (Even the Tommy gun Medici! He's still mad that he got killed, but he hates the Trinity more and just wants to finally rest.). Marie channels the power of the other Skullgirls and purges the Trinity from her shard. Double slinks away, Peacock and Marie hug, and they finally get access to Avery again and ride off in the Bandwagon back to New Meridian.
In a post-credits scene, Brain Drain and Valentine discuss the damages done. Dr. Avian's dead again, by the way. Brain Drain then reveals that they gathered up a bunch of shards of the Skull Heart and reconstructed it into an artificial version called the Chrome Heart, which they plan on using against the Trinity.

It looks like it. After 10 years it seems he is finally going to come into play, but its also funny our first real look at him is a complete silhouette
