Yeah, no, nobody posted the inbound count in either of those threads. And the Wayback Machine is no real help, because it only goes back to 2008, and there was no inbound counter.

Character Abandonment. At least as a valid redirect, in case things get to a point where nobody outside this site would ever remember Happy Days. Character Abandonment: When the writers forget the character exists. Not to be confused with Left for Dead or Forgotten Fallen Friend, when characters totally forget or abandon each other.

I must admit I hate self explanatory titles.

Part of the biggest fun I've ever had here is learning about new exotic terms and origins for Tropes' names through exploration of odd sounding titles, and I cringe whenever I see one of those changed to appeal to the Lowest Common Denominator of pop culture.

But that's me.

We do have some data now, on whether Brother Chuck is still gaining inbounds: No, it is not; and on whether Chuck Cunningham Syndrome is: Yes, very strongly.

On September 20th, when SSOT made this post, the inbound count for Brother Chuck was 27,461, and the wicks were at 439. Today, October 19th, one day shy of one month later, the inbounds are still at 27461, and the wicks have increased by 6, to 445.

Chuck Cunningham Syndrome has increased its inbounds from 8,552 to 8982, an increase of 430 new inbound links in one month. Its wick count has jumped from 712 to 747; 35 new wicks, also in a month.

Changing the name would be foolish. This current name is working, and working very, very well.

I'll add my 0.02 cents here. No need for renaming, per Shale's post.

Not to get entirely off topic, but wouldn't 0.02 Cents be a fiftieth of a single penny?

Also, yeah, no need to rename this when the current name is both working and a preexisting term - and you'd would especially need a better reason to do so.

Character Abandonment would make a great redirect though.
