No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

Sooo...anyone else finish Anarch yet?
I did. Press F to pay respects for Gol Kolea.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.'F', as in why do you keep ripping my 'F'-#$%ing heart out Dan Abnett, complete with Hope Spot and everything after the first Woe Engine faltered via the same tactic. Also, Metal Gear Mkoll ftw.

Traitor General is the next book I need to read but it has been so long since I have read any of the books I am thinking of starting from the beginning again.
Getting back to the Aeldari Character page quotes: As there appears to be some issues with sourcing the current ones, should they be changed?
I was thinking of the following for Craftworlds:
This for the Harlequins:
And possibly this for the Drukhari:
I am not sure about the Exodite one as they have been Out of Focus for years.
I'm not really feeling the one for the Craftworlders, but I like the other two.
I did a bit more digging and those quotes may be tied to the Xenology book or some Rogue Trader materials. This site lists that astropath and the Inquisitor she was working for. Said Inquisitor was the one who investigated the research site Xenology is tied to, if I'm understanding everything right.

Yeah. I just checked and they are from Xenology. I do still think the Harlequin and Drukhari quotes I proposed earlier are better though, not just because they are from Xenology but because they are more to the point. I wasn't too happy with the Craftworlds quote but that is the quote that I think needs changing the most as the Xenology one seems to be more about the Necrons rather than the Aeldari.
On a related note I think the following could be better for the general Aeldari page than the rather brief one that is currently there.

I wont rule out the exodites so easy, considering GW bring back genestlearler cults and even knight words, who know if the exodites ever return.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"yes, I just meant that, due to them being Out of Focus, contemporary quotes are hard to come by. I do actually expect them to come back at some point, possibly in a Gaiden Game if not the main game as Games Workshop have been using them to explore the background material recently (see Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress).
Exodites are space elves with space lasers riding space dinosaurs. Can anyone, besides that dipshit yelling "gay" at everything eldar, name one reason how this is anything besides fuckawesome and why we don't already have it?
Tabletop aside, I have always wondered why they don't turn up in the novels more often.
To change the subject completely, here is the Sandbox I have made for Kill Team. While it is nowhere near complete (what Work page is?), and I think the description may be a bit brief, I feel it is in a good enough place to make it a proper page but would like the opinion of others before I do so. If people think it is okay I will create it and crosswick it over the weekend.

That Czevak quote is good for the general Aeldari page. The sandbox for Kill Team looks good, too.

I will said the same reason of the wood elves in fantasy: they narrative landlock to a place always playing defense, meaning if a chararter is not visiting athel loren/paradise word then nobody will care, this is a serious limitating in the lore.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"@Sebastian Gray: I highly recommend a reread, and continuing straight through to Anarch. This book ties up most of the running plot threads going back to the original short stories, and well could have served as a series finale with perhaps another 30-40 pages of cleanup and in-universe 'historical data', like Abnett used for Eisenhorn. If there was anytime to blitz through the entire series in a marathon, the time is now. The Siege of Terra series is going to kick off soon with Abnett front and center, while he is also moving to continue the Inquisitor series with Penitent; the next arc for Gaunt's Ghosts will be a clean slate at some point in the future.

FYI, LVO is going on and apparently they're revealing some new stuff, including new Black Legion models (possibly Abaddon), new Primaris and Sisters of Battle.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Thsnks for the advice. I just need to find the time to resd everything on my to read list.
New Skulltaker◊ looks cool.
There is a new starter set coming, Shadowspear that includes new Primaris, such as the Vanguard Librarian◊ and the Primaris Eliminators (Snipers)◊. The Chaos forces are the Master of Possession◊, Chaos Marines◊, Oblitorators◊ and the Venomcrawler daemon engine◊.
A look at a Sister of Battle◊
And this:

Cool. There is a Mod note to leave the quote alone though. Is it still okay to change it?
In other news: Forge World pre-orders this week are for the Horus Heresy Space Wolves: Hvarl Red-Blade, Jarl of the Fourth Great Company and the Deathsworne.

Yeah, just make sure to note the discussion here in the edit reason like on the other pages and that a mod was involved.
Are those space marines wearing camo? What madness is this?
At least they'll be easy to paint as Dark Angels.
Thanks. Done.
Marines in camo have existed since 1st Edition.
That's not the same. That's outlandishly bright "camo." This is grounded urban camo. It's oddly pragmatic.
I love almost all of those models.
Edited by Zeromaeus on Feb 8th 2019 at 9:08:44 AM
The Executioners◊ used to have more of an Urban Camo colour scheme.
I will admit that I have been liking the more recent Primaris models. They have more character than the Intercessors and Hellblasters.
Primaris Vanguard Marines, not to be confused with Vanguard Veterans.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Or the Dauntless-class Light Cruser; the Strike Cruiser Variant; the species of Tyranid Drone Ship; the T'au Battlesuit; or the Stormcast Eternal Vanguard Chambers.
Games Workshop likes Vanguards.

It was also brought to my attention that there's like 5 units called Crusader.
