Especially a human who has apparently lived that long in a profession that sees its fair share of danger in that world.
Disgusted, but not surprisedA third, you say? I wonder who's the second then...

...It's Wednesday.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI seem to recall her telling Tarvek he's second, not first.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."If Wm. Schwenk Gilbert had his way, it would be Violetta.

Poor Krosp. He really wants to believe that Martellus has some redeeming qualities because he feels a kinship with him. But Martellus ruins that by being Martellus.
Disgusted, but not surprised"I keep thinking he can't be ALL bad... and then he opens his mouth."
Could be Seffie?
Maybe Colette, by some sort of right of caste?
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.Just hope if it's not Gil and Tarvek ahead of Tweedle, that it's someone we've already met, and not a new plot complication.
http://www.mansionofe.comShe called Tarvek "Your majesty" back at the dance. That makes it sound like he's in front.
Whos on second?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I hadn't considered that possibility, but I bet you're right.
Ah I was misremembering, she was telling Martellus.
Hm, it would be funny if the second were Violetta.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."If Tarvek is 1, and Martellus is 3, then narratively the most obvious solution is a new Martellus replacement in the sense of someone who will plausibly come after Tarvek and try to kill him (M himself has been rehabilitated a little too much for this now). Presumably, someone on the island.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Would Tarveks "sister" count?
"You can reply to this Message!"
Considering European nobility has really strict rules regarding inheritance, I doubt it.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Gil semi-joked that one of the recurring problems with potential heirs was that an annoying number of them were female. Zola didn't correct him, so presumably the conspiracy would not allow a female heir.
Of course, that's the conspiracy's opinion. The Muses and Albia quite likely don't see it as much of an issue.
Not a comic for Friday; attempts to avoid driving into Plot Holes in progress.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Considering the speculation about being "third in Line" though, my theory is that the first in line is of course Andronicus Valois himself, as the Muses' loyalty is to him and him only, regardless of what silly games human play with the "lineage" rules they invented. At least, that's what the Muses' discussion with Martellus led me to suspect. Another likely possibility, though, is that the other rightful heir is of course Gil, himself, as he calls down the lightning, and several people have pointed out parallels with either the old storm king stories, or some kind of prophecy in which he seems to fit too.
This.
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!The Foglios: *spend an extra weekend writing to avoid plotholes*
Gil on Monday: "I've just received word from my father that the alliance between Mechanicsburg and Castle Wulfenbach has been finalized."
"I have a lightning rod! And an army!"
"You're going to need more than that..."

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."Could the Unknown Heir be Baron "Not Dead Dead" Selnikov ?
Naah. The world has plenty enough crazy to easily go Seen It All in a human's lifetime.
