Whoo boy. That thing looks way nastier than the thing that's coming for Mechanicsburg.

Comparing the two, what do people think? Is the Mechanicsburg beast the same entity or "species" as this one? Both seem to have a central eye and tentacles, but this one's tentacles look more fluid, and it either has fewer eyes, or less natural-looking ones. Coloration and texture is also all different, but that might just be differing circumstances.

So that's Agatha, Zeetha & co., surrounded on the right side, right? So much for "she's taking over"

OK, so now my bet is that the sheet in the middle is covering Vi tied up / locked in some machinery, aimed to be offered as a sacrifice to The Thing. Sorry Agatha, but your friend Vi is going to get eaten by that thing you just summoned, it will drive your other friend Tarvek crazy; fortunately Vi's going to end up being rescued / brought back from whatever other dimension that thing brought her.

The best pic of the Mechanicsburg threat is a couple pages before that.

That one looks more angled and less organic than the current one.

[up][up] The current Mechanicsburg threat is the second incident, and here in England is the third. I was providing the link to Castle Heterodyne describing the first time DK saw things from other time dimensions.

[up][up]The incident the Kastle is describing in your link is when the Dreen were accidentally brought to Europa. Just in case that's not clear to anyone.

Is it possible that the monsters get bigger and scarier every time they come through? The Dreen don’t look that threatening, the thing coming to Mechanicsburg now is a scary monster, and this new one looks even scarier. Doesn’t explain the guy Tarvek and Higgs are talking to though, unless he’s really a first gen.

Hmm, so that guy is putting on his "I'm going to do something dangerous" suit, which means he will die horribly soon. My bet is now that the sacrifice was supposed to be Violetta, but because of Agatha, tarvek *et al.*'s intervention, this guy with the weird glasses will get eaten instead.

[up][up][up] The statues look pretty much as before by the way, within the usual artistic variation Phil has from page to page. I don't think it means anything, it just "happens" that the scenes is framed so that the two easiest to draw things are visible.

Honestly, this is just sound experimental procedure out of Agatha. She's about to try something that could be very pertinent for the saving of Mechanicsburg, but it is best to try this somewhere else first. And thus, nobody was put at risk for a valuable experiment.

Oh, except of all of London, of course, but eh, Heterodynes, what can you do?

I wouldn't be surprised to find that the Jaeger were having similar thoughts, and getting on with letting the Heterodyne do her thing undisturbed.

Well, I'll give it an even chance that the Jagers are either thinking "maybe this will get Agatha what she needs to free Mechanicsburg," "don't mess with a Spark - especially a Heterodyne - when they're in The Madness Place," or both.

“Stupidity cannot be cured. Stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death. There is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.”
