It's dirt from her climbing the cliff. It's present in previous pages as well.
Guess he's Eric then.
Will Jones land on the Moon or on Mars?
Spiral out, keep going. If you're punching somebody off the planet without significant astronomical calculations, then the only solid guesses for where they can land is back down or into the sun. Hitting anything else requires very precise aiming and speed to get caught by their gravity well. Space is huge and very empty.
Though with enough power and not a right angle "stable orbit" and "out into interstellar" are also options that answer "You won't." to the question of where you'll land.

I was about to explain the jokenote , but you just did it yourself
Spiral out, keep going.Ah, dang, I didn't connect.
it takes a ludicrous amount of dv to slow your orbit enough to hit the sun, so most likely if you were punched into space you would just be lost forever
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterThat and Jones wasn't exactly punched. She was speedily levitated, meaning who knows what kind of speed she was pulling, or if gravity, air resistance, and all that was even a factor. For all we know Coysengrin could have just willed Jones to a particular spot in orbit and no further.
That's how I interpret it - she's been put in a particular spot in orbit where it'll be difficult to get her down without assistance.
I'm actually kinda nervous to see what Annie's going to find, and I haven't felt that way about a character in quite some time.
She looks annoyed. I thought Jones didn't have emotions.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!"Annoyed" is not an emotion. It is a psychosomatic reaction to the stupidity of the universe.
Jones always makes that face.
Also, Most Writers Are Human and will translate human emotional responses, especially subconscious or automatic ones, to their supposedly nonhuman but intelligent characters.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAlso, some of us just don't believe Jones when she says she doesn't have emotions. She believes it. We don't believe it.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Re: Jones being annoyed - her face is the same as ever, but crossing her arms is a classic sign of annoyance. If she was truly neutral she'd just keep them by her sides, or let them drift.
Avatar from here.If Jones really was emotionless as she claims at the beginning of her long, long life, she would have to learn to mimic human behavior to fit in (if only in an understated manner). And from what we've been shown, she fit in really well. People trusted her, became infatuated with her. She's either continuing to mimic on autopilot, or she's actually developed feelings at some point.
Spiral out, keep going. And that starts opening the philosophical zombie can of crap.
Could've been worse. The Sociopath can.

Spiral out, keep going.I am calling it in now: This is a reappearance of the cute elf-boy.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWell, that explains the annoyance in that still shot.
Well that gives a new meaning to "Wandering Eye".
"Not the first time", eh?
Update.
So yeah, just enough to reach upper atmosphere, but not satellite height. Still, impressive.
In another note, is that rust on her dress?
