I haven't watched or read Boruto ever, but doesn't this contradict some flashforward from the beginning?

To quote the movie some people call worse than Mortal Kombat Annihilation:

Which given how this franchise operates, someone's gonna give their life to revive him, the Jougan's gonna take effect, heart regeneration is either going to play with Boruto's not-Kurama getting nerfed in terms of powers to keep him alive.

In fact, screw it. I want this to death to be at least a chapter or two long. In fact after this, I want a ton of characters to start getting killed off. I want Kishimoto and Ikemoto to pull no punches this time. Naruto turns against Kawaki and Kawaki kills him, the five Great Nations turn their back on him, by the time Boruto comes back from the dead, I want him to come back and find everything and everyone he loves suffering in agony or are dead because of this.

Kill Shikamaru, Metal Lee, half of the other members of Konoha 12 that aren't Naruto/Sasuke/Rock/Hinata/Sakura, Inojin and Chocho. Hell, kill Tsunade, people backed up Swagkage in his fixing the War arc video where he felt more people should die and have Tsunade sacrifice herself to save Naruto, let's do this. Even Kakashi, they said he was going to play a major role in the manga for later, I'm all in. They're barely in the manga anyway, might as well use the opportunity to draw them one final time to really make an impact on the readers.

I want a bloodbath just to really shake things up, make everyone suffer just to show how bad of a situation is.

Are people going to get upset or cry? Yup. They did it this time, they'll do it with more bodies. The perception is already "Naruto og cast is already getting nerfed and killed", Kishi and Ike should lean into it. Really make this all Boruto's fault.

No one should have Plot Armor. Kill everyone except the characters who matter for the end. Make Boruto just as bloody and brutal as the Ninja World before Part 1.

If the ending to Boruto is going to have the Leaf destroyed, the carnage should reflect that.

People are gonna get mad regardless, all the series has done is make people angry anyways, but it'll get them to watch and read anyway. Let Boruto and Kawaki's final battle and the destruction of the Leaf be on the ashes and destruction of Boruto's death and Kawaki's actions.

Let his death stick or last for as long as possible. But that's the way this franchise is gonna really get people talking.

That put the thought in my head of who will become Hokage if Naruto can't do it. Obvious choice would be Shikamaru but what if he's gone too? I guess Kakashi could do like the 3rd and come back. And there's also Konohamru to continue the trend of blatant familial and teacher-student nepotism, specially if Sarada's gonna be Hokage eventually.

Didn't expect the series to end already.

If nothing else Bort is hopped up on Momoshiki which does make him much more powerful.

What are these consequences exactly?

Naruto's idealism kinda made sense for his story though. The Ninja World was so freaking bleak back then, they needed someone like Naruto to point out that things could get better and should at some point, and for the most part he was right: actually addressing shit that people weren't considering.

Think about it like this. Naruto had to deal with so many people who hit rock bottom that he could make them go up. For example: indirectly, Naruto kinda helped Kabuto out. Kabuto ended up being motivated by Naruto to step out of Orochimaru's shadow, be the Big Bad, which lead to Itachi (who trusted Naruto) helping Kabuto confront his inner demons with Izanami, Kabuto reuniting with his adoptive brother, and running an orphanage like his mother wanted too.

It's just that now, as it turns out, just because you have a peaceful society on the surface, doesn't mean those cracks are going to surface. Kawaki and Kara's mythology are an exact counter to Naruto because frankly idealism isn't their goal or how they were brought up. Kara just wants to screw Naruto's idealism for their own greed, and Kawaki's sense of idealism was more broken than the bottle his daddy used to beat him up with.

Basically it took time for Naruto to start influencing the people around him...5 years in total for the better. Meanwhile he's had Kawaki for like a few months. Just because Kawaki's learned better from Naruto doesn't mean he's gonna hold onto the same convictions. He'll always be pragmatic over emotion, even though the latter has helped him regain his humanity.

Kawaki is being pragmatic but at least he is doing so out of love for Naruto and Boruto.

I doubt the manga's over. Otherwise they'd have called it Shoruto.

Oh don't worry about the series being over just yet. Ikemoto talked about the plans being for Boruto to be 30 volumes so Naruto can end the franchise with 100 volumes.

So doing some match, 4 chapters a tankobon, 16 being 60-63, and 17 probably being chapters 64-67,

that would mean we got about 52 chapters left, there's 12 months within a a year, so Boruto's probably not ending up until 2025 or early 2026.

I can drink more salty Naruto fan tears for a few more years, at least I know I'll never feel dehydrated.

Silm, if Kishimoto was allowed too, he could've made Naruto much longer. Imagine it. Team 7 going on all the other missions, fights in the war like Chiyo vs Sakura or Gaara or Naruto, Kimimaro vs Rock Lee, doing something in canon with the Anko-Orochimaru plotline, exploring the tensions between the Cloud Village and Hyuga clan, giving some backstory elements to people who definitely deserved it (Mei), how deep Root could get within the village, legitimately, Naruto could be a 1000 chapter series.

Next chapter is the last chapter of the volume. It's also the last chapter of Boruto.

Or would you prefer Sarada: Sasuke Next Generations?

Or Himawari: Hinata Next Generations?

This isn't inherently bad in theory, but saying the way it's executed leaves a lot to be desired is an understatement.

Well we still haven't met the guy who's sending the Otshuki members so. I figure that guys whose being saved for the Final Boss.

@Black Yakuzu 94 Given how many people either hate Kawaki for taking away screentime from Sarada or ship the two, screw it, make Kawaki and Sarada the main characters.

@Aquaconda The death...yeah Ikemoto is kinda improving though it's clear he should take strides from Toyotaro on how to improve paneling.

@Miraculous. So you think it's be like Boruto vs Kawaki, then they have to face the Otsutsuki God?

Oh wait, they have to deal with Eida and Daemon too unless Code can recruit more allies, which is doubtful even with the anime. The Shin Uchihas are on the heroes side, the New Mist conservatives might be turning good in the anime based on some leaks, the Fabrications are dead, which just leaves Hidan's fan, the Mujina Bandits and maybe the Byakuya Gang but they can barely pulled.

The endgame rivalries are probably just going to be Daemon vs Mitsuki, Sarada vs Aida, and Boruto vs Mitsuki vs Code for the rivalries going forward.

The problem with Naruto and Sasuke in Boruto is that they're essentially in a limbo: logically they could easily solve the plot with the power they have, so they have to be nerfed. But then they're not allowed to actually die. So they're stuck like this: too weak to do anything for bullshit reasons, but not allowed to feel the consequences of that weakness because they're too popular to die.

Meanwhile, the new cast isn't really allowed to do much because Naruto and Sasuke still exist, so it's really the worst of all worlds. Either be a continuation with the previous main characters, or be a new gen that does it's own thing: pick one.

I mean I wouldn't say they're too weak for bullshit reasons. You can argue all you want about how Naruto lost Kurama and Sasuke lost Rinnegan but without them, it's pretty logical that they wouldn't be able to compete with the aliens anymore.

Naruto only having Sage Mode means that there are side-characters like Killer Bee and Kabuto more powerful than him now.

@Devil Otsutsuki God is just a fan theory villain. I doubt that will be the endgame boss. In fact, it's looking more and more like Amado is going to be the final boss with all his cyborgs having a voice command function to protect and kill for him at the right moment between Delta, Code, Kashin Koji, Kawaki, Daemon, the new cyborg he built and potentially Boruto if he builds him a new cyborg body to implant a Karma on

Yes, that's the bullshit reasons i refer to.

Naruto was doomed the moment he got his dream job. A bureaucrat.

Meanwhile Sasuke loses his Rinnegan because he gets taken by surprise by someone specifically targeting the Rinnegan for any future battles he knows he’ll have with Sasuke.
