• The Un-Twist: The reveal that Ferdinand, the first mate is the serial killer is very easy to guess as his thoughts are the most indecipherable and he's one of the only two characters you can't fully possess, as well as being the only character to be cruel to the cat. The climax is more figuring out how to prove that it's them than finding out who it is.
• Tear Jerker:
  • The few hints that the player gets about the captain's backstory, which implies that they lost not one, but two people that they loved and now they're on the ship to forget about it.
  • Darryl's backstory, where it's shown he blames himself for his wife's suicide, thinking he should have noticed the signs sooner or at least come home early to save her. It's heavily implied that he's a Death Seeker.
  • The fact that you can't save Paulo from being brutalized, and even in the best ending he's likely going to be scarred for life. The worst ending has them just brokenly repeating whatever the other cast says around them, and most endings don't show them at all.
