  • Anti-Climax Boss: Remington Ralph is taken out with almost no effort. Jessie just so happens to run into him and one of his men while looking for help and he tries to fool her into joining his camp. She sees through his lie and immediately guns them both down before either of them can even pull their weapons.
  • Cliché Storm: The main character is a grizzled old veteran who's become an alcoholic Anti-Hero after his sons died in a war. His family is kidnapped and he must saddle up to rescue them. His companion is an Action Girl seeking revenge after her family was murdered. Both characters run into Native Americans at some point—both hostile and friendly. Most of the deputies are fairly useless. There are multiple bar brawls and shootings. And the climax of the story consists of the protagonists thwarting a train robbery, which ends with the main character dying after rescuing his wife and making peace with her while the action girl gets her vengeance. All this being said, none of these aspects make the story bad; it's evident the author was aware of said clichés and used them to his advantage to make a short, fast-paced adventure that gets right to the point.
  • Complete Monster: Remington Ralph is the leader of a group of malicious outlaws. Looking to get rich quick, Ralph led his outlaws into the town Big Blossom, killing the sheriff and various deputies before kidnapping several women to sell to a Comanche tribe. When the Comanche tribe is eventually wiped out by Glen Doyle, Jessie, and a group of deputies, Ralph leads his gang to attack a train so he can kidnap Missus Cantrell in exchange for more money. Even though his plan fails, Ralph and his gang end up killing dozens of deputies and civilians during the assault.
