  • Values Dissonance: Many early "Tytus" stories were made when Poland was a communist country. Since comic books at the time were seen as a part of American culture, Chmielewski could only draw them if they included elements of pro-communist propaganda. For example, one story focuses on Tytus praising the then-current army. Another pretty controversial moment involves the boys meeting a Fidel Castro look-a-like who was shown as a very sympathetic person. After the fall of the Soviet Union, the new stories conversely took on a right-wing propaganda stance.
