  • Crowning Moment of Funny:
    • Koume's inner monologue of utter disdain for Type 89 I-Go tank, while plausible, it also ventures to "Stop Having Fun" Guys attitude, although she keeps it to herself. Her reaction when some novice actually think that Type 89 is cool is even more funny.
Koume: (inner monologue) No. No, no, no. To actively field a Type 89 in the National Tournament. The Shame. Oh the shame.
    • After a surprisingly serious moment of Koume laying down the severity of the sport (if you get hit by a tank shell in a match, you will die), Saori tries to break up the mood by asking the instructor if she's good at attracting boyfriends. What completely fixes the mood, however? One of the freshman asking if the tanks will be safe should Godzilla attack. The poor girl actually seems disappointed upon learning Godzilla's fictional.
  • Fourth Wall Myopia: A strange example. Many readers are quick to unfavorably judge the student council despite the fact that their perspective is filtered through the eyes of Koume, someone with an inherent bias against them. Essentially, they're forgetting that Koume isn't unbiased.
  • The Scrappy: The student council, especially Momo Kawashima. Most reviewers who express an opinion on them dislike them and virtually no one is defending them, despite the author pointing out that they aren't meant to be hated. Part of the reason is that as of this writing, the fic is still at the point in the story in which the student council is almost completely unlikeable(i.e. before the semifinals match with Pravda roughly two thirds of the way through). It doesn't help that the fic going into more detail about the effort needed to get the tankery team up and running again makes the student council, which started up the tankery team without much of a plan in mind, come off as less competent than in canon. Kawashima gets the worst of it, as while her terrible aim was regarded as an amusing Running Gag in the anime, people are hoping Koume will replace her with a gunner who can actually hit what she's shooting at. Sure enough, once Momo misses a point-blank shot on Rosehip's Crusader (ultimately costing Oorai the practice match even worse than in canon), Koume and Anzu immediately have her removed from the gunner position in favor of Koume before the match has even ended.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Miho and Koume propose arranging a practice match against an opponent closer to Oarai's level. It seems like it might have been a good way to have a different opponent in the practice match, possibly a school that they never faced in canon, but the Student Council overrules them and they face St. Gloriana, like in canon.
