• Fan-Preferred Couple: This episode was responsible for many shipping Fifi and Furrball together. It helps that Furrball showed a genuine interest in Fifi and it was made much more abundantly clear that it's her scent that turns him away rather than Fifi herself. It also helps that at the end of the episode Furrball is still shown to be sympathetic to Fifi when she thinks she's lost the love of her life.
• Salvaged Story: This episode is why people say that Fifi has managed to avoid much of the same controversy her mentor got. It's made abundantly clear from the get go that Furrball would love to be with Fifi if not for her odor, Fifi is much less aggressive in her affections than her mentor is (she only smothers Furrball in kisses when he initiated the embrace first, and he was genuinely enjoying it until he noticed her scent, and the worst she does afterwards is just embrace him), and the story itself does a much better job keeping sympathy on her than it did with her mentor. (Furrball genuinely feels bad for her when her heart gets broken, and manages to enact some karmic justice on the cats that had been hounding him in the previous short while giving Fifi a mood boost.)
