• Sequelitis: The second film, largely due to the absence of Chow Yun-fat. And that fighting with chainsaws beats fighting with iron pipes any time of the day.
• Special Effects Failure: The chainsaw fight scene, awesome as it is, have some glaring revealing mistakes. For instance during close-ups, its quite obvious the chainsaws are inactive.
• Values Dissonance: The scene where Francis outright beats up a hysterical and outmatched Marydonna is extremely uncomfortable to watch today, as society became more sensitive of violence against women. Francis justifies her assault due to her status as a drug mule, and even attempted to simulate drowning by shoving her head in a filled bath.
