YMMV / Three Dark Crowns

• Ass Pull: Jules not being affected by the legion curse once Arsinoe's binding of it wears off. It's even suggested that the legion curse might not have even been a curse in the first place.
• Moral Event Horizon: Francesca crosses it when she has three entire houses killed in order to get the populace to believe that Elsabet has indeed gone mad.
• The Woobie: Katharine. She was born a naturalist, but was placed in the Arron household all because Camille didn't want to give the Arrons another chance at winning the throne (this, while knowing what Arrons do to weak Queens). Due to her weak gift, she was subjected to horrific poisoner training. Then she gets possessed by the ghosts of past defeated Queens, who use her to enact their own plans to become Queen Crowned. While she goes along with them at first, she realizes that they don't exactly have her well-being in mind, and when she tries to get rid of them, it does more harm than good. And all of the suffering she went through ends up being for naught when she winds up dying, leaving Arsinoe the last Queen standing.
