• Alternate Character Interpretation: Steve- Hitman or just a delusional psychopath? On top of the evidence we see that he is not right in the head, there is not one person we know Steve killed for money. The guy at the beginning? Disproportionate Retribution. Everyone he mentions killing since his wife's death? He thought they MIGHT be to blame, and killed them for no one but himself. The only one who pays him for a hit is Percival, and not only is that more like a Mercy Kill, he doesn't even keep the money.
