• Broken Base: Even though the episode isn't as controversial as "About a Girl" or "Cupid's Dagger" in terms of its content, it still nonetheless divided fans between those who loved it and those who went so far as to call it the worst episode of the season.
• Nightmare Fuel: The entire episode is centered around this concept to the point where it's almost justified to include this YMMV trope in the main index for the episode, with the characters describing what frightens them, these fears playing out in the simulation, and the episode built around Alara discovering what her Nightmare Fuel is. As for viewers, those afraid of clowns and spiders in particular might find some scenes uncomfortable as this episode (despite still being billed a comedy) pulls no punches.
