- Harsher in Hindsight: Komaeda convinces Ultimate Despair to adopt Naegi by convincing them he is Enoshima's child. This is one of the last thoughts Naegi has before falling into despair.
- It Was His Sled: Although a major twist at the time, it's now a pretty open secret that Ultimate Despair discovers Naegi in Komaeda's room and decides to take him in.
- Moral Event Horizon: Naegi crosses it in chapter 99, when he tries to poison Ultimate Despair's prisoners.
