- It's still easy to travel between Russia and Ukraine whenever you want, with no one asking any questions.
- Blizzard Entertainment is mentioned to remain a highly successful game developer with stellar reputation.
- At one point, Alisa calls the Russian police "militia"; they were renamed into police as part of reforms soon after the novel's publication.
