• Spiritual Successor: The Family Jewels has a successor in North. The latter is about a neglected 11-year-old boy who emancipates himself from his parents and seeks a new family. Like Donna, North doesn't pick any of the options available and, instead, returns to a more familiar figure. There is great irony in this, as North explicitly mocks Jerry Lewis' comic style and his popularity in France.
