• Never Live It Down: For years, Chevy got potshots from fellow comedians and other TV shows, including The Simpsons, over this show's miserable failure.
• Serial Numbers Filed Off: Chevy wasn't doing Weekend Update on this show, he was doing News Update, which was largely the same basic premise.
• Uncertain Audience: Hats Off Entertainment did a video discussing this. The show wanted to be a throwback to the feel of old variety shows, while simultaneously a hipper alternative to Leno and Letterman. Making things worse was Chevy, who was too awkward as a host to commit to either of those things.
