• Overshadowed by Controversy: A likely fatal example for the English release. After accidentally giving out too much free currency during the game's launch, someone in the chain of command panicked, took it all away, and then put players in "debt" for the currency in question, something which disproportionately affected their most invested players who'd gotten the most free currency. This caused many to leave the game in droves, became the only thing prospective new players who might hear about the game through word of mouth learned about it, and led to review-bombings and hurt feelings on the part of the former playerbase, some of whom also felt that quality of life features the Japanese servers enjoyed were lacking and the monetization was different in predatory ways. Within a year, the English version of the game had gotten its End of Service announcement, despite mostly moving on from a rough launch and providing a good experience for such players as stayed or arrived afterwards.
• Unexpected Character: Seeing the Black Lagoon cast in a Taimanin game comes off as a surprise, especially with Revy and Balalaika. Some of the main Taimanin roster even cosplay as one of the BL cast, Asagi being Roberta for example.
