YMMV / Supergirl (2015) S2E6 "Changing"

Go To

  • Ass Pull: The method of Kara defeating Parasite (by getting it to absorb plutonium) isn't foreshadowed at all in any way throughout the episode, which can almost make Parasite feel like an Anti-Climax Boss.
  • She Really Can Act: Chyler Leigh's performance in this episode, portraying Alex's Coming-Out Story, received incredible praise from audiences, especially from LGBTQ+ viewers who empathised with Alex. May count as Heartwarming in Hindsight as Leigh herself would come out as queer in 2020.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Mon-El. The episode is supposed to be about him going from being a selfish person to a hero, but he isn't really selfish to begin with, it's just that no one asked him if he wanted to put his life on the line for free because everyone made the stereotypical assumption that he would. Furthermore Supergirl gives Mon-El crap for using his superpowers for profit; while it is bad that he used his powers as a loan shark enforcer, neither Supergirl nor the DEO tried to find him a job that he would be suited for on this completely alien planet he barely knows anything about.
