  • Demonic Spiders:
    • GlowBrites and the object that spawn them, exclusive to Icarus (where they come from the orange-tinted vents) and the Black Canyon (where multiple spawn at once from the giant stalagmites). Their spawn rates are relentless, they dump acid everywhere when killed, and will make your life hell if the first thing you do when entering a room isn't killing their source.
    • The Black Canyon's golem enemies are tanky as hell for the part of the game where they can appear, they surprise attack you from their disguise as normal background scenery, and almost always do so while other foes are taking you on at the same time. Bordering on Boss in Mook Clothing, they're frustrating to deal with on the rare times they do spawn.
  • Goddamned Bats:
    • The headgear-wearing Gluttons scattered throughout the levels. It is way too easy to accidentally hit their head when attempting to aim for center-of-mass, knocking out their helmet and essentially giving them a second hitpoint to survive on.
    • Crawlers can be quite irritating in Athena, since they won't aggro you unless you approach them. When placed in locked-out rooms where you're forced to either search them out after eliminating everything else or hold a lengthy unlocking sequence to progress, they can cause more than their fair share of tedium.
  • Good Bad Bugs: If you look up through the glass roof in the weapons room when you start the game, you can see the level generation for the game (although it only shows the Icarus' first room). Later on, during the Bookend of the game, observing that same location shows the level you have just recently went through.
