YMMV / Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation

• Awesome Music: We have "Dax's Last Stand". It doesn't compare much at all to "Klendathu Drop", but it's still quite awesome as used in the film. Hey General!
• Best Known for the Fanservice: That's the one where the chick from Nip/Tuck gets naked, right?
• Sequelitis: Generally agreed to be the worst film in the series. Due to it having no characters from the previous film return and most of the new ones introduced being forgettable at best, abandoning the themes of government propaganda for the sake of a mediocre horror story, and low budget that fails to impress.
• Special Effects Failure:
  • The bugs, while not exactly terrible for a DTV film, do pale in comparison to their appearance in the previous film (despite reusing the same effects studio, and thus presumably the same models, for them). What little bit of footage we get of the new brain bugs however, show them to not be much better than a high-end PlayStation 2 cutcene.
  • The gun props were refitted with strobe lights because they couldn't afford blanks for the firefight scenes. So are they supposed to be projectile weapons like in the other two films, or energy weapons? Eh, take your pick.
