YMMV / Star Wars: Rico's Brigade

Go To

  • Bizarro Episode: In one (presumably non-canon) episode released during 2020's election season, a Clone Commander ends up on Earth somehow, sets a Gonk droid up as a U.S. presidential canidate, and has to fight the U.S. army.
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • The Dutchman was already a ruthless Imperial officer, but when he gets a tip from a civilian in a Kuat village that Rico himself is there, expecting a reward, The Dutchman has the village bombarded from orbit, then sends in Stormtroopers to kill any survivors.
    • Badger was a hero of the Clone Wars, and of Rico's Brigade, but upon joining Racket's Regime, he lies to his men about Rico's Brigade shooting first to get them to go lethal against there own brothers, turning the conflict into a full-blown civil war.
    • While Commander Cody is technically under control of the inhibitor chips, he has a distinct personality and shows he's capable of doubt and remorse, but still has captured clones re-implanted with chips, and at one point uses Delta Squad as hostages to force the Brigade to surrender, and has Fixer killed when they refuse.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Red vs. Blue. Both are animated fan-fiction made using a video game. Both are about soldiers who almost never remove their armor. Both have moments on both ends of the Sliding Scale of Silliness vs. Seriousness. It even has a Sergeant named "Sarge" and Season 3 had Rico's blue forces against Racket's red-armored Regime.
