• Hilarious in Hindsight: With the proliferation of the pseudoscientific concept of male dynamics in the late 2010s/early 2020s, hearing the Jem’Hadar proudly boasting about how they are inherently superior due to being “Alphas” can come off a lot like you’re watching a YouTube video focusing on the manosphere as opposed to Star Trek.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The sub-plot involving tension between the original Gamma Quadrant-bred Jem'Hadar and their newer Alpha Quadrant-bred counterparts is potentially interesting, but isn't used for much beyond some bickering among them, and is never mentioned again after this episode. There were supposed to be more episodes exploring this rivalry but they were scrapped, replaced with the tensions between Damar and Cardassia against Weyoun and the Dominion.
