- Memetic Mutation: Many memes are referenced in dialogue and boss fights. It's also subverted in that Tails Doll, the villain, doesn't reference anything from his mythos.
- Nightmare Fuel: Even if Tails Doll doesn't act as creepy as you'd expect, the game over screen does feature the classic fanart of a bloody Tails Doll standing by the side of a fallen wheelchair.
