• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Officer Russell, who is portrayed as an Only Sane Man and Nice Guy in the film, despite making a legitimate threat of having Jeremy prison raped at multiple points in the film. He is never called out for this, and is apparently in the right for threatening to arrange Jeremy's rape for his failed attempt to blackmail him.
