YMMV / Prince of Lan Ling

• Awesome Music: Taiwanese band MayDay performs the OP, the "Song of Battle". It's as awesome and pulse-pounding as it sounds.
• Special Effects Failure: The bird in the prologue is very obviously CGI. Not only are its movements odd, but its feathers are too bright compared to its surroundings.
• Squick: The fish that ate a human finger. An unfortunate man discovers this when he cuts up the fish and starts to eat it.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Some viewers have grumbled that the series' Very Loosely Based on a True Story approach to Gao Chang Gong's life is disappointing, especially when a historically accurate version would be equally dramatic — after all, he became a general when he was a teenager and won his greatest victory when he was twenty-three.
