• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Briar Rose - Maleficent's nemesis - is only an offscreen character and never appears.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Massively with Aurora's role in Maleficent's backstory. Certain lines in the Season 2 premiere hinted at a more interesting history between them - Aurora implying she might even have gone under the sleeping curse willingly. Here Aurora is reduced to one scene that turns her into a Damsel in Distress - which ends up being her final appearance on the show. While the episode's focus on Regina and Maleficent meeting was good, there was no need to rush one plot in favor of the other.
  • This episode comes after The Reveal that Maleficent was pregnant in the Enchanted Forest. And Aurora had been established to have a son now in Storybrooke. She and Maleficent never interact as mothers.
