YMMV / My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S1 E24 "Owl's Well That Ends Well"

• Alternate Character Interpretation: Twilight's reason for not fully explaining Owlowisicious' purpose to Spike. Is this a result of her still-developing social skills, or did she think that she had given Spike enough information that he could figure it out on his own? Her insistence that he knows he can't be replaced would imply the latter.
• Accidental Aesop: A decent moral for this episode can be "Don't make big life-changing decisions without talking to your family about them first", since Twilight hired Owlowiscious without even considering whether Spike would be okay with it or not, and doesn't clear things up with him until the end of the episode.
• Base-Breaking Character: Owlowiscious. Fans are divided whether he's a cool and funny character who needs more appearances or really seems to covet Spike's place. However, "Just for Sidekicks", where he acts more friendly toward Spike, may have redeemed him for some.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Oh boy... this episode suddenly becomes a lot more tragic in light of "The Crystal Empire Part 2" revealing Twilight not needing Spike anymore is Spike's worst fear.
• Jerkass Woobie: Despite how Spike acted in this episode, it's hard not to feel bad for him because he felt that he wasn't loved by Twilight anymore. Poor guy. Even more so in light of the Harsher in Hindsight entry above.
