• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: In North America, they're best remembered as a Hair Metal band who broke too late and notched a couple low-charting hits. But in Japan? They regularly sell out Budokan with no trouble, they announced their reunion in Japan, did the ending theme for the first Hellsing anime, and released exclusive live albums for the Japanese... yep, Japan loves these guys.^note They're not the Trope Namer for the phrase "Big in Japan", however. And you better believe that Mr. Big loves Japan, too.
• Signature Song: "To Be With You." Sheehan and Gilbert sneak it into weird places in their own shows (an extended bass solo going through rock history here, a rearrangement around a Van Halen riff there), more or less embracing it.
