• Crosses the Line Twice: When Tom tries to ambush Jerry by hiding inside a package, a suspicious Jerry begins pushing large needles all through the package, eliciting muffled yelps. Jerry then proceeds to saw the package in half. After that, when he takes a glimpse inside the package, he looks up, horrified, gulps, and pulls a note that asks "Is there's a doctor in the house?"
• Memetic Mutation:
  • Tom reading his book while laughing his head off is often used as a reactionary clip or image to any situation that garners controversy, but is rather stupid to get worked up over in the long run.
  • The scene where Tom is about to shoot himself with a shotgun became a popular meme about people being Hoist by Their Own Petard, or not realizing that a solution to a problem is actually much more detrimental than it seems.
